OC A Comic about DID - Part 9 [OC]

If you want to help playtest this mod, join our Discord! It features the creation of different "profiles" on one account which each have their individual skin, location, inventory, and their own keep inventory toggle.

You can download this without joining the Discord here, but keep in mind it's still in early beta so there will probably be bugs. The keybind for the alter menu is 'K' by default.

This may be a dumb question, but are all these comics made by "you", or did other alters contribute to them?

Also, do you know if there is a "prime" among you who gets to spend significantly more time "awake" than the other alters? If so, are you the prime or do you only experience a small fraction of your life?

Okay so this one was the only one made by "me" so far, the other ones drawn have all been by the same alter I think? Who currently is not present.

I understand not wanting to identify any alters who haven't already given permission to be identified yet, but would you have a way to help us distinguish who's commenting or posting in the meantime? I had no idea this one was made by someone else than the others, and I personally find that kinda cool.

Obviously you know when you're "me" versus the original poster of the previous comics (well, less obvious sometimes, I can't imagine the confusion), but we'd have no idea if you didn't just let us know just now. And unless you identify in every reply, we never really get to know each of you. Just the account. Hell, I wouldn't ever know if any reply to this is from the same "me" I'm replying to right now.

Which, if that's what all of you would prefer, not gonna impose otherwise. You're perfectly welcome to privacy the same way as any of us are.

I had guessed from the bat wings instead of the astronaut helmet. Uncertain how I (not the original artist but pigeoning replies) would do that; using our internal names seems a bit much.

Actually that would help. Different helmets or character details. Could even choose their own aliases for posting, and sign them.

I'm here for the interesting reading on how this works

The artist does depict each alter differently, but only internally. For scenes representing the outside body, whoever is fronting is somewhat unknown as the body is drawn instead of the alter's inner representation.

Bat Wings here was introduced in an earlier comic as a relatively recent new host(age), the alter who is more generally active instead of specialized (definitely the wrong terms for this, but I'm blanking at the moment). Bat Wings has a tendency to front more often or almost as a default? If no one else is?

I haven't read the back posts, this is my second comic I've seen on it. So that's really helpful!

I thought I only saw the astronaut helmet in a bonus panel, so I still haven't really associated any of the alters with the main artist yet. Most of the comics just have the outside body drawn when discussing "me."

I know some systems will initialize, referring to each alter just by a single letter, but it could also just be a symbol or something. In this particular case, we got art to accompany, so literally "bat wings" or "astronaut" could also work in the interim, since I think OP (edit: OOP?) was working on getting permission from the rest about introducing them?

I get it though. I don't exactly sign my own comments. No reason to expect someone else to sign theirs.

Right. If it was us, it might be difficult to even draw things. I am literally a floating domino mask and floating gloves. :performing_arts:

Well, nice to meet you, ":performing_arts:." :P

I often use emoji shorthand to identify us, because one of us is mute and has intermittent trouble writing during which they have to use emoji. Mine is the performing arts masks.
