OC A Comic about DID - Part 9 [OC]

If you want to help playtest this mod, join our Discord! It features the creation of different "profiles" on one account which each have their individual skin, location, inventory, and their own keep inventory toggle.

You can download this without joining the Discord here, but keep in mind it's still in early beta so there will probably be bugs. The keybind for the alter menu is 'K' by default.

...my only question is how did this thread summon so many DID people? Is it more common than one would assume?

It’s like 1% of people. But it’s incredibly trendy to pretend to have it.

Assistive Tech: I suspect only a fraction of that 1% have a presentation acute enough to really show up clearly, but that's still a lot of people, and we definitely keep an eye out for content like this.

1% of the world is like 80 million. r/comics is a reasonably large sub so you might just be snagging half of the folks in the demographic (and adjacent ones) present on Reddit.

People like you fuel my imposter syndrome and actually piss me off.

And people who fake mental illness because they want to be special piss me off. So I guess we’re even.

I don't want to be special.
I am what I am, and I kept masking for decades because of denial and imposter syndrome.
I had people tell me I was imagining it for years and years. Longer than it's been a "trend", longer than I've had words for it.

Cool. Then I’m not talking about you am I?

You probably are, assholes like you love to act like armchair psychologists and act like everyone has to fit a certain mold despite the fact that everyone's different. People have told me the fact that my system is fictives, or that I grayout more than blackout, means I'm faking it.

Bet you think a lot of trans people are "fake" too, huh?

I dunno about you, but I don't care if someone is faking being a system. Because if they are, they'll get over it and drop the act.
You thinking you gotta call them out on it, like it's some moral obligation, does more harm than good. And that's why you piss me off.

I'd say the trend that's far more common is stalking people that say they have certain identities or conditions and calling them fakers.
