OC Remember that drink I invented yesterday? (oc)

COME for the acrid taste, but STAY for the lack of caffeine!

Yeah there’s probably good coffee somewhere, but it’s definitely not as common, or maybe requires a dedicated shop for it.

It was a bit of a shock not just having coffee served at just about every restaurant, cafe, bakery and etc. Can’t judge based on the fast food places like Starbucks though, as we have our bad ones here (coffee club tastes like it was poured out of a dirty unwiped asshole).

It was also a bad shock when you’d ask for coffee at the hotel restaurant and they’d bring you something poured out of the big warmer coffee pot thing.

I visited NYC and Toronto from Australia about 15 years ago and it was stupidly difficult to get a good coffee. Not impossible but we actually had to do some research.

I was so used to stumbling across a whole range of options in Australia that I figured we’d always be able to grab one with breakfast and that definitely wasn’t the case (back then at least).

Yeah it’s a big difference compared to here in Aus.

Coffee culture has really taken over here, and if you like coffee it’s great. You can pretty much go to a sushi shop (or some other business you wouldn’t expect to sell coffee) and for some reason they’ll have an espresso machine.
