Is sick time ever paid out? I’ve never been at company where you could bank sick time, maybe the author confused PTO and sick time.

Never worked at a place that gave me PTO and sick time. It's always just been PTO.

I get 7 sick days and 15 vacation days plus a solo floater day that I can just use.

At 100% pay.

Then sort term disability, then long term disability . how much and long for each depends on a lot of things (mine is 90% for 12 weeks, then 50%)

Nope. Korea is the same way. I got 3 sick days a year. Morocco I get 6 sick days and 4 personal days.

Ha I also get the floating holiday, but it was added because the company didn't want to make a call on whether to give us Columbus Day or Juneteenth.

Also get a Birthday Holiday which is just a floating holiday you can use any work day of your birth month

Unlimited sick days and six weeks vacation, plus I can bank my OT for more lieu time.
