Some vtuber models need exagerated movements from their real person to be more "human" or "actually reactionary", so to make their model not be just a png they end up needing to "speak with their hands" a lot... But with their body

Though ironically, a lot of vtubers don't use hand tracking (which is probably what contributes to them being so animated as a torso)

In order to make their streams more engaging a lot of v/png tubers will use a setting that swaps or tweens the model when they speak. Low tech versions will just manipulate the model with mic activation (png tubing).

The next stage up from that is face/body tracking to control the model. Most tracking needs you to exaggerate your movements to track properly so they develop a habit of bouncing around when they speak to make the model seem more active. (v tubing)

The joke is the guy isn't self aware enough to realize he's doing it in a person.

Though to be fair, the overanimation does help with the stiffness of models compared to how insanely complicated human expression is

Yeah... I'm half VTuber(on my mom's side) and these ugly stereotypes are just hurtful.

For the stupid among us (asking for a friend), what's a VTuber?
