Other Names for Crab Cats

I hope this will be allowed here as I have yet to capture a picture of my son in crab cat form. I was just wondering what everyone calls this particular phenomenon. I for one, call it “Fluffy Puffy” “Fluffy Puffies.” Or “Hissy Puffies.”

I've always said "uh-oh she's in italic mode!" when my cat crabs.
She's running in italic!

This is what I’ve always called it. Long before I ever heard the term crab cats. And I think Halloween Cat pose works so much better still.

My cat doesn’t really go full crab cat, but ever since he was a baby the fur along his spine would stick straight up when he gets a little wound up. When he was a kitten we called it his stegosaurus ridge and it just kind of stuck. So now, instead of crabbing, we call it ridging.

To me, just getting fluffy isn't enough, it's only a crab cat if they're walking sideways. My cat doesn't usually go full fluff, I just smooth down his bottlebrush tail after he's spooked. Which is that I call it, "bottlebrush"

My grandma calls it "running like a Chort". Chorts are devils in Slavic mythology (we're Ukrainian), so my grandma basically jokingly calls her cat possessed.
