I don't know what causes this, but whenever I see teams like 4 Houndmasters for the Flesh boss it stirs something wrong inside me, I just need my teams to be 4 different characters every time haha

If this took two rounds in champion it'll probably take one round in apprentice if you get lucky with speed checks. These ash jar trinkets are broken. You can also do this with 4 HMs' or MAAs

Like the title says, I’ve just gotten my first Grand slam!

I’ve played this game around 20/30 hours when it got released. But then got into other games and completely forgotten about it.

Around 3 months ago I came across it on a random youtube video and decided to give it a try again. Tbf I had to spent another 20 hours just to get past the act 2 boss, I just didn’t understand the lung mechanics lol.

From there I steamed rolled through the other acts (in hindsight I was just lucky) and decided, lets grandslam this!

After many (and I mean many) attempts, I finally got to the act 5 boss and beat it! Currently at 125 hours, so lets say -45 hours, it just took me 80 hours.
My girlfriend will probably be happy that its over lol.

So now the question is; is kingdoms worth it? I’ve never played DD1 tbh, so genuinely interested in opinions on DD2 Kingdoms.

Took longer than necessary since i dont have a proper action to reach the armor mob for Reynauld (first time reaching the last boss with him)

I've only played DD1, and I'm on my first playthrough. It's week 65, and I have about a team and a half of champions, and I'm trying to get some variety away from my usual Vestel, Jester, Tank, DPS build that I do over and over in a few different forms. The biggest thing I struggle to move away from is Vestel. I go for different combos with Flaggelant and Arbalest and Occultist but it feels like whenever I don't have a Vestel in my team I get hammered and end up barely scraping by, meanwhile with a Vestel I very regularly finish a mission at all full HP or similar. How could I start transitioning into more varied comps? I've seen people say occultist is an even better healer than Vestel but I just don't feel it. I have a good number of orange tier trinkets but not all of them so if it's a trinket issue then just letting me know would be helpful.

Yahtzee! I wasn't really expecting it to happen so soon, but here we are! Red Hook split up Darkest Dungeon achievements into 5 sets. This is what it looks like with a fully completed title. What do you guys think about this change? 💭

I heard many people say the endless mode is bugged and doesn’t let you get your loot and just auto closes. Is it actually bugged like that?

Context:
On my Obsession run right after clearing the first 2 confessions easily using the Crus / Occult / Duelist / Flag comp. Unfortunately, i got ambushed right away in the early part of the region and rest of the team got obliterated from the back to back encounter with The Collector, Chirurgeon and then Death (Like DD2 intended to really end my happy run)

i almost about to abandon the entire run and start again from Denial, this until, Damian cleared out the Death battle and im like "yeah lets see how far he can go". So i put on all these mini bosses' trinkets and went on.

And bruh, Damian took the challenge and ravaged everyone in his path all the way up to the last Oblivion battle like a bullet train! CHHOOO CHOOOO MFs!
That satisfying feeling seeing the Exemplar struggling to fight that lone Damian! LOL

Imma bout to push through to the boss but DD2 decided to replace the Last Stand quirk into something useless when i reached the inn... so welp, i ended the expedition and took Damian home to give him some unlimited time of happy flagellations, he deserves it!!!

What drew me to connect this song to al-Hazred is the relationship he has with the eldritch horror that lives in his mind. I imagine the Occultist to be largely misunderstood; he's a man who is very clearly not like the others. He's from a different culture, and beyond that he even deviates from his own upbringing. From this, his only closest companion would be the Beast.

There's a complicated relationship between the two. There's a pact that neither are satisfied with, yet here they are bound in what he's even referred to as 'unholy matrimony'. Even when he appears to be alone, he always has the Beast.

I consider him to be a sort of 'dead man walking'; he's killed parts of himself for a fraction of infinite knowledge and now his body is host to something unfathomable. His body isn't even his own anymore, thanks to this pact. Hence the Y-incision on his torso, a wound only the Beast can open. Inspiration for that comes from having stumbled upon a screenshot of Bruce Campbell in Waxwork 2 and it evolved from there.

Sure, they often butt heads, but if they're forced to live with each other in a confined space, they must get along somehow, right? Their relationship is intimate, but unsteady. The Beast knows more about al-Hazred than he knows about himself.

And despite the fear directed at him from his colleagues or the townfolk, he remains a powerful hero.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a couple of players for a Darkest Dungeon old school D&D game (run through Old School Essentials). The campaign is heavily themed around DD1 and should be a lot of fun for anyone that wants to explore that world. I've taken quite a few creative liberties expanding the setting to have something more fleshed out. The mechanics will also be heavily themed including custom and altered classes to match those in-game as well as stress mechanics and more. Game open to people new to TTRPGs or old school style games, happy to help you learn how to play. Sessions are currently set for 6pm CET / 12pm EST on Sundays, but this is flexible.

Week 40.

The expedition covered costs, with an anemic profit but as the men tell it, it was little more than a stroll. Another confusing piece of the maddening puzzle that is the Courtyard. At least they are healthy and brought back plenty of "Blood" for the infected.

After an idle look at my ledger Bondeville appears to be my most profitable hire to date. Not surprising that him and late Brai ranked highest considering that each in their way were killers for a living. What did come as a surprise was little Tessel next in line for treasure recovered. Is it that her professionalism lends itself to discerning valuables from mere decor? That she simply has an eye for places of storage more than thugs and ransackers? Perhaps I should talk to the lady and the man, get their input in a calm setting.

The unblooded recruits chafe at the patrol and watchman duties I set them on, and the admittedly feeble pay. I bite my tongue on the horrors that await them once I find respite from juggling the blood-sick.They probably have heard enough from the townsfolk or my veterans. They would hardly heed my word any more than theirs. I shall preserve their ignorance in stead of the innocence that violence for hire crushed long ago.
