Well yeah, obviously the car was creeping out, but, at least driving in LA, people be doing that. Pulling out into a lane that's free preparing to make a left turn after the next lane frees up. It's really fucking annoying because there's a part of me that's wondering if they're gonna do the dumb shit the blue car here did.

That is to say, I can totally see how it would be unexpected for this car to keep creeping out into a lane where a car would be instead of just up to the edge of the free lane, if that makes sense.

Yup. We know an accident is about to occur, but in a lot of places creeping into a turn isn’t uncommon. If you stopped every time you saw someone start you’d definitely cause a lot more accidents. It’s the other drivers responsibility not to drive into oncoming traffic, and the cam had a second or two to react from the point where the accident is apparent. She reacted two seconds or so in, which isn’t great but not as horrible as everyone here is pretending it is.

Every single time people here find a way to well actually the camera pov for not driving perfectly when the other driver is clearly at fault

You dont have to stop. Driving you are supposed to be on the defensive. If i saw someone creeping out, im taking my foot off the accelerator and hovering over the brake prepared if needed. Never trust anyone else on the road, a lot can be deduced just by watching other vehicles. I can spot a driver that will do something stupid well before the do it.

I don’t disagree that they could’ve done more, but it’s an insane habit on Reddit to immediately disperse blame when it’s clearly one person making a really dumb decision that led to this.

I’m confident that 30%+ drivers on the road would have the same accident in this scenario.

You’re not wrong, but that’s more of a statement about that 30% of drivers than it is about how avoidable this wreck was.

This is what I was thinking. Or at least the car creeping out would see they’re about to hit someone and stop short of going for the turn until cam car passed.
