MPEG-2 TS file viewing help.

I have a 4k fitcam I installed recently and it does not look good on VLC player for whatever reason. Front 4k image looks like significantly lower resolution and choppy while rear 1080p looks okay for the most part. I've seen a youtube video of this exact setup that looks 10x better.

I'm trying to determine if it's the camera, the SD card or the video player. SD card is a newly purchased 256gb sandisk ultra. Is there a better alternatives to sd card and video player?

Check your dash cam settings. My dash cam has the option to set in lower resolution. I believe the purpose of this is so that it will record for longer before deleting old recordings.
