Anime It's the 3rd of October in Japan! Happy 20th anniversary to the JP airing of the original D.Gray-Man Anime!
My favorite piece of media ever! At the very least, my favorite Anime/Manga of all time! What is your favorite memory of DGM? Favorite character? Fave OP/ED? I know it's been over 10 years since Hallow. But I'm still holding out hope we'll get something, some day! I've been a fan of all of this series since around 2008 or 09, and it means a lot to me! Long live Allen Walker!

My favorite memory of DGM has to be getting to episode 50/51 (Suman Dark Fallen One Arc) and literally being at the edge of my seat..! I had really enjoyed the show prior to this but the beginning of this arc was serious for me.
My favorite character is Lavi, he’s amazing, I find him super charming and emotionally compelling!
Call me basic but the first OP is literally so damn iconic.
Even though I joined the fandom recently in 2023, it has since become one of my favorites and I am not going anywhere!!!

That’s CRAZY it’s been so long. This was my first ever anime I watched in high school on freaking Netflix (before crunchyroll got them all lol)

Happy belated anniversary!
I have actually been rewatching it on and off on Crunchyroll as at times, D. Gray Man was something of a comfort show for me and I recently had to donate most of my books and manga collection as I am planning to take a job in an area far from where I live to attend and support a wonderful friend whose getting married amd to have a change of pace for myself, and it made me sad to have to do so when I saw the manga books I had held onto since I was a teenager be handed off to the bookshop owner.
Lala's arc was probably one of my early favorites as music often is a hobby of mine, but if I am being honest? I actually like the science division and the Noah better than some of the main characters we're probably supposed to root for. I do find the Bookmen arc in the manga fascinating and am looking forward to the next chapter. 🥰

Happy 20th anniversary to one of my favorite anime ever. Recently rewatched the whole thing and I still love it dearly after all these years, and I still feel so melancholic seeing it ending after all those years. It may not be the best animated anime, but in terms of enjoyment and sentimental value few come close to D.Gray-man, anytime I rewatch it I watch even the filler episodes, that's how much I love it. Hallow came years later, but it changed the voice actors and art style, so it wasn't the same anymore.
About the questions:
I have so many of them, but if I can name some those would be:
• Lala's beautiful song
• Allen's "death" at the hands of Tyki
• Lenalee's fight with the Level 3 Eshi
• The activation of Crown Clown
• Allen saving Lenalee from the Earl in Edo
• Skinn Bolic's awakening as a Noah (it terrified me a lot back then)
• Allen restoring the Ark
• The birth of the Level 4 Akuma and the whole fight with it
Among many others.
Lenalee and Krory. Love them both so much.
Favorite opening is Gekido (the 4th one), but I like them all equally.
Favorite ending is Anata ga Ima Koko Riyuu (the 5th one), followed by Changin (ending 8) and Snow Kiss (ending 1), but then again I like them all.
Anyway, happy 20th anniversary, D.Gray-man, I'll love you forever.
