Gear Anyone using Nomadeos?

I found this setup to keep your home IP while abroad.

https://www.nomadeos.com/en

I was wondering if anyone got experience with it and if it really works?

Thanks.

I have no experience with this product, like someone already mentioned it seems like its essentially a casual consumer product repackaging what free tools can already provide you, minus the hardware. If you have a spare computer of really any capacity in your home already you could recreate the same set up for free using e.g Tailscale, it might just require an ounce more tinkering and technical know-how.

hello, it's overpriced repackaged tools that already exist

The bit nobody mentions is that your home upload becomes the ceiling for everything you do abroad. Good luck on a video call from a hotel when the box back home does 20 Mbps up.

that's the part that always gets glossed over in these travel router threads, your spain airbnb wifi means nothing if the pipe back home is a garden hose

If I have 16megabits per second as upload would that be sufficient? I am not too technical. It will be no device connected at home while I am abroad.

I tried, but the setup found out my true age and refused me service in blatant age discrimination.
