Question What are your thoughts on Disney Infinity?
I thought it was ok game, and it felt like a cool Disney crossover with a lot of the character of the IP they own like Marvel and Star Wars.

In hindsight, it’s a shame that they focused on mostly making figures to promote whatever new projects we’re releasing as opposed to the classics. Star Wars and Marvel did a decent-ish job at getting the icons in there, but Disney and Pixar had trouble doing it, so instead we got figures like the Lone Ranger and Tim Burton Alice over fun animated counterparts.

It's a cool premise, but it was a very clear cash grab when you had to physically buy every character and the figurines were expensive. It's not like Disney is the only one guilty of something like this, far from it, but it doesn't make them any less guilty

Toys To Life as a game genre has this problem. I used to play both this and Lego Dimensions and Dimensions was so much worse for characters
The amount of abilities that were locked to a handful of hard to find characters was infuriating. Sure, you didn’t need them, but having the last collectible in a level locked behind that one skill you don’t have was not a great feeling. At least Infinity the characters did basically the same things

I had a bunch of the sets. I remember unlocking the Bedknobs and Broomsticks bed at one point. Disappointed that the series dried up after a few years. This was fun casual play.

Great game. Infinity 1 was peak. My son hates the health bar element of 2.0 and 3.0 forcing him to switch characters. (He was 4-6 at the time). Whereas 1 just felt like a full blown toybox. We poured hours into it. Had a huge collection. Spent most of the time in the Incredibals box.

I do love how it eventually led to Disney, Star Wars and Marvel characters playable in one toybox. Now we have Fortnite but I still would have loved to see 21st Fox figures eventually

I like the general art style of the characters and it's a shame they didn't lean into it more. Not just in the game.

I really wished it did not stopped and gave us all members of the Sensational Six and more characters from Marvel and Star Wars to play as...not costume variants, but actual characters from the other Marvel properties . The concept art of what could have been was truly a sight to behold.

Loved it. Cool toys, fun game. They did start to overproduce a little at the end of its life. I would have liked to have seen more. I wish they would release a toy-free version on console like they did on Steam.

I really wish they had made these compatible across games. Imagine if they worked with games like Epic Mickey or Kingdom Hearts and now Dreamlight Valley? Maybe a couple could have been compatible with Smash Brothers.

I personally loved the game. The Star Wars and Spiderman were our favorite play sets. Once kids discovered Mine Craft, I was the only one left playing. They said it was easier to build on Mine Craft. I think making the Sandbox mode easier could have saved this game.

Owned a book about it from a book fair, but never got to play it. Didn’t know it was an actual video game until much later, and even then, I was glad my parents never got it for me since that’s probably a whole money hole of buying toys to bring in to the game. Seems kind of predatory. Pretty cool idea to see as a kid though: it was like the multiverse I imagined in my head as a kid but it actually existed

I loved it but it just cost too much
Great game, I played the story modes a few times for my favorite campaigns

I really liked it. The figures are study enough that my daughter now plays with them as toys.
But, they did make way too many figures and not enough new content for the actual game.

My kids loved it. We still have sooo many of the figures in a drawer downstairs.

I’d love to see them bring it back but make it like the steam version i think where you don’t need the figures etc. was such a fun mode and sucks we never got some of the canceled characters and areas.

Cool concept but the fact that the characters couldn’t crossover to each other’s stories made it less special.

I never played the game, but I did pick up a lot of the figures. They looked great.

It had potential but the whole pay for each character thing is what led to its downfall. My sister and i would spend hours on it.

with my sister we played it a lot on our wii u, it was a very fun way to play quite a variety of characters, we had the marvel and star wars sets, too bad they haven't extended the game

I thought it was a really excellent game and I’ve spent hours messing around in the creator sandbox with my wife and kids. The figures were actually incredibly nice, which was probably a draw back at the end of the day. I always kinda wonder if it would have done better if the models were more like action figures (removable bases, articulated joints, etc.).
Had they been traditional action figures that *also* worked with the game I could see kids being more interested and parents justifying the purchase more often. But for the age group it was targeting, collectible “toys” that don’t really do anything other than work with the game didn’t make a lot of sense.
The franchise had tremendous potential and may have actually become a mainstay if Disney wasn’t so cut throat with their game studios.
I kinda wonder if the new Fortnite Disney world thing is going to be a spiritual successor to infinity.

It was basically them trying to kingdom hearts without kingdom hearts. They even included king mickey’s outfit and the keyblade. It’s a shame it ended but it was still a cool premise.

I have one of if not the rarest figure for this game. A prototype Venom, one of only 6 ever made in its prototype box that was only given out to corporate execs at E3, I happened to trade one of them for his Venom for my Spider-man I got from the experience at the booth at E3 the public could do 😆 Worthless now, but once people saw what I had back in the day I got offered $1,000 by someone who saw me trade and saw what I got lol.

Such fond memories I have playing this with my kids and going out and looking for new figures and discs with them.
