Phono Preamp Ear834 clone psu: where?

I would like to build a tube phono preamp, the ear834 looks nice and there are plenty of information and pcb (the black and gold ones) availables on AliExpress.

However, I can’t seem to find its companion linear psu board anywhere, the black and gold pcb that comes with the zero zone finished build.

Anyway, is a linear psu needed? A bare torroid with a 6.3v is enough for this kind of build?

I see you've already figured out the power supply, but if you're building one of these you should check out this great thread on Lenco Heaven on the subject.

I was just about to reply with this thread link haha. I built one before the LH compilation thread so like 15 years ago and at that time, it was easily the best phono I or my group of audio friends had heard (and we'd heard a lot prior to that point). We even had access to a production 384p to compare and Thorsten's changes are (subjectively) a noticeable improvement on an already great performing design. Then about 5 years ago I build this TRHL variant with PCBs and to me it's further refined, I've got no reason or need to look at anything else.

I don't have an answer for your questions but DIY Audio Store has universal power supply boards that you can use.

Thanks! I just realized the psu board was actually attached to the ear clone pcb board. Bummer…

Me bummer for not realizing this from the picture and wasting everyone’s time.

Missing something like that isn't that bad. I let the magic smoke out the other day and it was all my fault. That's what I would call a bummer..

If you don't want the PSU section attached to the audio section, you can break it off. It's designed to be split if wanted.
