Trade (تجارة) Which car should be bought for 50 thousand rial 2017 and above?

Hello everyone, I have a situation where I can buy 50 thousand rials with first FINANCE, but I don't know what to buy. I want it to go to Turkey by car once a year. I don't want it to tire me and I drive a minimum of 100 km daily. Air conditioning performance at noon, especially in the summer months. Japanese cars are very important for me. Japanese cars are expensive, especially Toyotas. Chinese cars are very equipped, but the value drops a lot. While selling, European cars are nice cars, but they are not kept. American cars are nice cars, but I'm very confused. I don't want it to waste a lot of fuel. My car, so I don't think about v8 or a very burning car because I pay a loan and I don't think it will cost too much fuel. I don't want a car that burns 13 14 liters at 100 km.

News (أخبار) Social Support Group for Emotional Health Awareness

Helle everyone,

I hope you are all doing well, we have a social support group (Compassion Qatar) to spread awareness about Emotional Wellness for people who need help themselves or seeking help for their loved ones, or those who would want to extend helping hand to others to help overcome the illness.

Compassion Qatar was founded about 2 years ago by a patient who survived a severe depression and bi-polor disorder, where they observed that:

A. Hamad Mental health is crowed with long waiting lines (although the quality of health care is outstanding),

B. Private Therapy is expansive and usually not covered by the insurances,

C. Social support group is none existent

D. High Social Stigma in our part of the world.

Therefore to fill the void of Social support group Compassion Qatar was founded where regular events are organized to help educate people and provide a platform to those who may just need to talk about their heath openly without the fear of being judged.

Some of the members are volunteering to lend a listening ear to others or help organize events, arrange resources.

We have recently made our community sub on Reddit and would love to invite all those who needs help, seeking help for their loved ones or interested in volunteering or just to be an observer, please join the sub with the link below;

https://www.reddit.com/r/Compassion_Qatar/s/jJdSidgNg2

PS. The goal is not to recruit audience for the sub but to reach out to those who genuinely need help.

Software Engineer Offer: 20k QAR on a 6-month contract for a family of 3. Realistic?

Hi everyone,

I am an Indian expat currently working in India making ₹1.75 Lakh per month. I have just received an offer to move to Doha as a Software Engineer with a package of 20,000 QAR per month. The office is located in Lusail.

I am planning to move with my wife and 1-year-old child. However, the offer is initially a 6-month contract (with a possibility of extension).

I want to keep our total monthly family expenses strictly under 8,000–10,000 QAR so I can save the rest. I am also looking to commute exclusively via the Metro, but I want my round-trip commute to be under 30–40 minutes total.

Given this context, I would love some honest advice on a few points:

  1. The Contract Risk: With a 6-month contract, will I even be able to get a proper Residency Permit (RP) to sponsor my wife and child's visas immediately? Or will they be stuck on family visit visas? Is it too risky to uproot a family with a toddler for a 6-month contract?

  2. The Budget & Commute: Can I find a decent, clean 1BHK in areas close to the Red Line (like Legtaifiya, Qatar University, or Fox Hills in Lusail) that allows me a <20 min one-way metro commute while keeping my total expenses under 10k QAR?

  3. Hidden Expenses: For those with young toddlers, how expensive are private pediatric care and basic child necessities if the company's insurance doesn't cover dependents properly?

Would you recommend I take this offer, or should I consider traveling alone for the first 6 months to check project stability before bringing my family?

Thanks in advance for the guidance!

Seeking advice (طلب المشورة) Job Opportunities in Qatar at Age 47 with 20 Years of Telecom Experience

Hi everyone,

I’m 47 years old with 20 years of experience in telecom, specializing in DBA, database development, scripting, and automation.

I’m considering moving to Qatar and would appreciate honest advice:

  • What are my chances of finding a job at this age?
  • Should I come on a visit visa or apply from Pakistan?
  • Approximately how much would a 1–2 month job search cost?
  • What salary could I realistically expect?

I’d appreciate advice from anyone working in Qatar’s IT or telecom industry.

Thanks!

Seeking advice (طلب المشورة) I spent 12 years as Head of Finance at a Qatari IT company. Ask me anything about IFRS, bank facilities or ERP setup.

I spent 12 years as Head of Finance at a Qatari IT company. Since then I've worked with multi-entity teams across India, the UAE and the Netherlands.

I'm now exploring part-time and finance leadership for growing companies.

Ask me anything about IFRS, bank facilities or ERP setup. If you're running a business or a finance team, drop your question in the comments or message me, and I'll answer honestly.

What's the finance problem keeping you up right now?

Seeking advice (طلب المشورة) Food and beverage assistant acceptance

Hey everyone! 👋

I recently got an offer to work as a Food Service Assistant at Qatar Duty Free in Doha, and I’d love some honest advice from people who work there or have worked there before.

I’m from Tunisia, and moving abroad is a big decision for me, so I want to know what the job is really like.

How many people share one bedroom in the company accommodation?

How many hours do you work, and is overtime paid?

Are there bonuses, tips, free meals, or other benefits?

What’s the hardest part of the job?

Is there a real chance of promotion and a better salary?

Can we legally work a second job during our free time?

After expenses, is it possible to save a decent amount of money?

I’d really appreciate your honest opinions, good or bad. I want to know what to expect before making this big move. 🙏

Thank you! ❤️
