My dumbass couldn't resist

And it's good the way it is ;3

So yeah, this is a thing that's happening. I am getting a fursuit of my derg. Been in denial about wanting a suit for a very long time. Most give me the willies. But I see so many people on my feeds having so much fun at conventions. So I've been yearning for one in secret. I'd been looking, contacted a few makers, asked questions, narrowed it down to three, then the other day I chose one and made a deposit.

In about a year's time, Mekanip will be brought to life by KomicKrazi. (Look her up. She's talented!) I'm equal parts excited and nervous. Excited because she makes incredible dragons! Nervous because....wtf...I just ordered a fursuit. This is surreal! I plan to go to conventions if life allows it. Maybe I'll meet some of you! (I know there's at least one dragon fursuiter that lurks this subreddit.)

Anyway, I just got excited and had to share the news! I definitely plan to post pics! Maybe even recreate a few memes...

:)

EDIT: this about is what i think we should do https://www.reddit.com/r/dragons/s/8rjkhe8Gng

im sure this community is so queer coded, we should definetly not go with a clearly male, or cleary female name

EDTI: from reading the comments i have come to realise, its not that gender neutrality is important, but rather, that paul is just a name that screams human. good for a dragon, but not good for a mascot representing this actually really big community of dragon lovers :)
and no, im not a paul hater, ill love them regardless of the name, i just think there are better options

UPDATE: (ive read through the comments and found some bangers)

1. ash thats a great name, both being very neutral and draconic
2. alex/jesse more human than dragon, buts still very neutral
3. gale (my personal 2nd choice) its like, as neutral as possible
4. snoodra/drasnoo (my prsonal favs) apparently the reddit mascot is named snoo, leaning into that would be a great choice.
5. derg (short for derg the dragon) honestly cute
6. plume/quartz they are super because they dont refer to anything human or gendered and what i honestly would prefer, leaving it without a name.

also how tf did we land on paul?

UPDATE: so according to one guy, it is a reference to a film named paul, wich is about an alien named paul, if thats the case, paul already is less bad of an option.
there are also people proposing to make the u optional, and call it pal or paul depending on wich you like most.
i have come to my final conclusion, that the dragon should not have a set name, but rather that everyone should ca it however they want.
but if pal is accepted as good paul is also good a option.
im gonna call it pal, and and anyone of you should find a name you yourself find fitting :)
have a great rest of your day!!
(and i did not think this would become such a successful post, i though it might get like four comments, and maybe ten upvotes, but no, its over 160 comments and over 300 upvotes, i love yall, you made my day :3c)

There are people that complain that anthro dragons shouldn't be considered dragons. They are still dragons!! Just anthro uwu

Favorite mascot, they really knocked it out of the park with these two

These are all kinds of Dragons.

Honestly, it's getting a bit annoying to see people rambling that "Nooo Wyverns are not Dragons", "Noo, Dragons just have Wings!"

Dude, Dragons are a mythological creature that stem from different ages and cultures across the globe, which means you'll find different variations of the species.

You have dragons not only in Europe, but also in Egypt, the Mesopotamia, Iran, China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, India, Etc. Only difference is European ones (Western Dragons) became more popular. In fact, Wyverns also first appeared in Europe, so there's nothing to say that Westerns are the correct type of Dragon.

Tbh, saying that Wyverns are not Dragons is like saying Lightsabers aren't swords because they are made of plasma. They are still swords, just a different kind.

Stop creating silly arguments and enjoy them instead of crying because someone decided to draw a wingless Dragon, or add an extra pair of limbs.

It's all about creativity here, but also respecting other cultures imo.

I keep seeing people in this sub complaining that a new post doesn't meet their standards. If you don't like it, draw your own OC and share it to enlighten us on how a Dragon should look like according to you.

Anyways, Take care Dergs

Bonus points to anyone who can name all the dragons present

I have a friend who's a dragon, and he does this every single time there's a lit laser pointer

found on twitter but I don't know the name (I promise) Does anyone knows what is this??

On a real note, I recently finished the anime and got to say, it's honestly underrated and a lot better than I was expecting. Going from a silly gag anime to a genuinely engrossing plot about an upcoming war in which our monsters have to fight in an Armageddon that would lead to humanity being killed off.

Also Shiron's is genuinely a neat character. From his chill but irreverent personality, his history, his cool forms, the fact he has a dark counterpart named Ranshiin who's basically dragon Dark Pit, him actually being the one to call his fellow monsters to fight in the apocalyptic war and the fact he's just one part of one greater dragon.

Honestly, Shiron unironically has become one of my favorite dragon characters in all of fiction, and is the reason why I stuck around even in some of the rougher parts of early Legendz.

Also his whole relationship with Helca Hepburn is honestly pretty neat and one parts wholesome, one parts tragic.

Another thing is that Legendz got a manga that came to the west, and manga Shiron is just a separate character from Anime Shiron, to the point one of the videogames has them as seperate versions of the "Windragon" Legendz.

Plus the show has other cool dragons like the aforementioned Ranshiin and Greedo who's another cool character with his own cool stuff.

Not much to be said lol :3
