I know ranting here accomplishes absolutely nothing, but do people really not think more than 2 seconds into the future?

This one’s U-turning onto oncoming traffic on the A46.

I was driving today with clear traffic doing the speed limit and this ass stopped right in front of me for no reason!
I emergency broke but it wasn't enough due to the immediate stop he did and I hit his back bumper. Due to being in the middle lane I was signaling to go over on to the exit but he wouldn't move that's when I knew something was definitely was up! So I got out and the second I said I had dash cams front and rear he got very cagey but was still putting on the pressure, which I and my passenger did not give in to! He was so calm you could tell he was ready for this to happen.
A police car was passing and stopped the guy tried to say I denied him my details which wasn't true so I called him in front of the officer and showed the officer my texts to show I gave my name and required details. I then checked his reg number on the DVLA website and what do you know his MOT is expired!
My question is how do I actually prove this? I've given the footage to the police and my insurance, they have a witness my passenger. Is there anything else I can do?

Visiting from the US. I dropped a mate at the Holiday Inn Express by Heathrow T4, which shares a car park with the Crowne Plaza. Not really a car park either, it was just one of those turn around spots in front of the doors. Anyways, he hopped out, grabbed his bag from the boot, and I drove off. Total time on site, according to Euro Car Parks’ own cameras: 73 seconds.
A week and a half later, Hertz emails. ECP says I “parked without a valid Pay by Phone transaction.” In 73 seconds. I’m genuinely impressed they think anyone can download an app, create an account, find the location code and pay in that time. I can’t find the handbrake on a hire car in 73 seconds.
That works out to about £1.37 a second, which surely makes it the priciest parking in London.
Better still, Hertz paid it immediately, so I never got the chance to appeal. They’re now charging me a £42 admin fee for forwarding an email. I can't appeal with Euro Car Parks because the charge has been paid, so I've emailed Hertz.
This is mostly an FYI for any future Hertz rental car customers.

Whilst driving to my local aquarium shop today, some scumbag threw or catapulted a rock through my window. Although the rock did hit me in the head I'm a little sore but absolutely fine. I'm just glad it happened to my window and didn't harm my wife or young children who were also in the car. No sign on the scum unfortunately. A dirt path on the otherside of the road runs parallel with the road and is pretty well covered by tress etc. What a terrible ending to a lovely day.
This happened on the A20 London Road in Aylesford (Just before b&q) at 3pm today.
I've been saying for 3 weeks now how much I would like a dash cam. Typical. 🤦🏻♂️

I've got a nuisance boy racer driver in the neighborhood who likes to test his 0-60 down our 20mph streets. This is a family neighborhood with kids on their bikes. It's a matter of time before this asshole hits or kills someone.
Today while I was driving along, he was coming the other way and when he was about 15 meters away he decided to wind down his window and throw a half full can of energy drink out on the street. Not at me or anyone in particular. He was just done with it and lacks the social decency to put it in a bin. I captured it on my dash cam.
My question is, is there something I can do with this to make this guy's life even the tiniest bit more difficult? I don't know if Thames Valley Police would give a shit. Maybe they'll issue him a big fat fine. Maybe they'll say they've got bigger fish to fry. But this guy is a menace to our streets and I want to make his life difficult by any legal means that I can. 😀

Parked cars on your side doesn’t always mean you’re the one who should stop.
Had someone beep at me today when I was already more than halfway through a long stretch of parked cars.
They had just arrived from the other direction, and they only needed to wait a few seconds for me to get to the point where the road opened up on my left and I could move over.
Instead, they beeped. Like… what do you actually want me to do? Reverse 50 yards? 😂 That would take longer than you just waiting a few seconds.
I understand the parked cars were on my side, but surely common sense and timing matter. If someone is already committed and almost through, making the situation more awkward instead of just waiting a few seconds doesn’t really make sense.
Do people forget that these situations need judgement, not just a “parked cars are on your side, so you lose” mindset?

May seem stupid to ask, but is it true that if you see any single average speed cameras that they are most likely turned off? where I am has an ‘average speed camera’ (no signage of there even being an average speed camera) on a slip road that has 30 attached to it (you come off a 50) but no other camera to follow up.
I heard that sometimes councils keep single ones as a deterrent, not sure if that’s true. Was doing 42 when I passed and slowed down to thirty right after it.
EDIT:
Just checked properly on waze, there is an average speed camera on the slip road, then when you pass a junction and continue straight to join back on then there’s another one, so I’m assuming I’ll be fine since I turned left right after the first one anyway?

I've passed and had to physically submit the documents (my license photo was my old passport from when I was 12 and I wanted a photo thats more up to date). However I have a medical license (epilepsy) and the last swansea fiasco took around 13 months to fully solve. I'm fully cleared to drive and haven't had any seizures since June [EDIT: PHRASING ERROR, LAST SEIZURE WAS IN 2024, MY DRIVING LICENSE CAME BACK IN JUNE] which is when I got my license back. Will the dvla take ages to process my full license as a result? I don't have my pass cert as ive had to mail it to wales and I don't think a policeman would accept the email on my phone and my passport as a valid certificate to drive.
I'm sorting insurance on my car (I passed in private vehicle) but I kind of want to get on the road quickly as I live in a rural part of England and want to get on the roads, but currently I'm even less restricted than earlier today as I can't drive full stop at the minute. Does anyone else with a medical license know an approximate ETA for this? Just to be clear my condition is fully cleared by both doctors and Swansea, but ive heard a medical license will take longer because of government red tape. Thanks

I dislike matte coloured paint jobs, as I cant see reflections as well in them.

Shared vehicle. It irritates my chest so I have to turn it off each time I restart. I don't have to keep turning the heated seats and steering wheel off, they just stay off.
I'm guessing there may be some setting in the bowels of the computer menu system.

Many cars always end up in the yellow box junction at this intersection in Birmingham, wondering if the cameras here are active ? The car in front of me was texting and did not move forward so I got stuck in it for 5 seconds or so.

A few days after passing my test i got in a queue for a petrol station. The line was moving very slowly and i wondered wherher i could drive with crossed legs. I got my right foot on the clutch and left hovered over the accelarate ready to move forward.
When traffic did move forward i tried to also. Unfortunately muscle memory compelled i lift off the clutch and stamp on the accelarator. I shot forward out of control.
I managed to steer away from other cars and applied my brakes in time to not fuck up my car.
I believe i was scared straight, i have never done something stupid since ane have never (touch wood) had a collision

Hi everyone! 👋
I’ve got a 2010 Toyota RAV4 2.2 sr D-CAT diesel AWD 4x4 () I’m looking to upgrade the suspension for rough roads in Africa I’d ideally like to give it a 2-inch lift for extra ground clearance. one of my shock absorbers is leaking, so I’m thinking of replacing all four shocks and springs and fitting a suitable lift kit at the same time.
I’m new to all this, so I’d really appreciate some advice!
Which shocks, springs and lift kit would you recommend for this exact model?
Are there any other parts I should replace at the same time?
Where’s the best place to buy good-quality parts online at an affordable price? How much am I looking at?
Is a 2-inch lift safe and practical for this RAV4, especially for rough roads? What should I know about when changing springs and shock absorber and a lift kit as i have never done this before.
I’m looking for something reliable and good quality without spending a fortune but will last. Mainly to be strudy and deal with rough roads without being very uncomfortable to drive. If anyone has done this to their RAV4 or any 4x4. I’d love to hear what parts you used, roughly how much it cost, and any tips you have.
Thanks in advance for any help! 🙏

Say someone was doing something truly repulsive like 80 in a 30 - Do they get a knock on the door from the police pretty quickly, or do they spend 2 weeks waiting for the same letter as a normal ticket?

I applied for my license 3 weeks before the deadline for my D1 to be sent off. Haven’t heard anything yet. I should be fine right? I sent everything that needed sending before the deadline.

I would like to check that my understanding of the following situation is correct.
If I am turning right here, then I can enter the yellow box and wait to turn right, providing that it's only oncoming traffic that is causing me to have to wait. There is a visible traffic light, but that light is, I believe, far enough away that it's not controlling the intersection where I'm making a right turn.
Google maps: Google maps link
Is that all correct?

so i had an awful neurologist who was a complete dikhed, but i suppose he rightfully noted my drug use as well as the generalised epilepsy diagnosis that stopped me driving in the first place. but now i have an awesome neurologist and my latest medical record states i am 4 year seizure free and 4 years drug free. will the dvla only check the latest record?
i'm mostly looking for reassurance ill ever be able to drive again cuz im going nuts not driving. i friggin hate it.
how much will my insurance go up by roughly? has anyone else had a similar experience as me?
