Recently came across a 2nd hand 2002 20" ride for €239.99 and figured I'd ask here in case some kind strangers had some good advice.

I know the pictures aren't great but there was no cracks visible, few smudges but nothing a quick clean wouldn't fix, bell seems to be in perfect condition too.

I'm currently playing a full set of Pst7 heavies and want to stick with paiste so I think it's a logical step and could save a handy €120 compared with the price for a brand new one. Any thought on the price/deal or how it would fit into my current set up would be much appreciated!

I went to a drum store today to try some clap stacks, particularly the Istanbul one. They had a meinl one, the Istanbul one and a boshporous black pearl one. I didn’t love the meinl one but the Istanbul and bosphorous ones and head to head right now. The issue is that there are no videos on it anywhere or reviews of any sort. I’ve got my videos that I took but nothing else and was wondering if anyone had any personal reviews/experiences or knew somewhere that I could find some

I'm super curious to hear how loud these hits are and I can't find anything on youtube of it. The Drumeo guy said he could hear a lot of power but he might've just been gassing him up lol

Is there a difference on how I roll if the roll starts with a half note and what do I play on that little 16th note? This is a solo that’s all about diddles and rolls

1st commissioned custom snare build for my drum mentor Foz. He dubbed it “Frankensnare“ fitting for the fact that I robbed pieces from my snare graveyard.

has anyone tried to put a tambourine on a drum bass mount instead of a cowbell? does it ring when hitting the bass drum or is it fine? cause it’s a very comfortable position, but i’m worried it would ring at every bass drum hit

Just got a new practice pad and did some training tonight. Trying to count the beat in English made me laugh out loud. Still have no idea how to use those "1 e & a" counts 🫠.

Dreaming of being a cool drummer, but watching my playback always makes me look so silly. I can't stop laughing 😂

Cover I posted last week. Let me know if there are any songs you want to be make videos for!

Hey everyone,

My band are looking for a drummer.

We are influenced by bands such as The Smiths, Durutti Column, early New Order, The Drums, early The Strokes, PJ Harvey, early Morrissey, The La's, The Fall, Iceage, The Cure and other bands.

The project consists of myself (vocalist), guitarist and a bassist at the moment. We've recorded some rough scratch demos of songs that we can send you. We all have experience writing songs and playing in bands. We are committed to having fun writing songs, recording and playing shows.

We have been rehearsing weekly in Deptford so far.

Get in touch if you're interested. If you can’t direct message me, leave a comment and I will message you. Please have recordings or a video of you playing.

Before summer this year, I received feedback for a university drum exam in which my teacher recommended working on moving the effort from my shoulders and elbows to my wrists to help with finger control/generally more controlled strokes (the rest of the exam went well despite this \o/ ).

I tried working on this over summer, but I think I’ve got some issues (or just difficulties) with loosening up my wrists which I feel have been really holding me back from developing control and speed.

This was most noticeable in the last few weeks when I took a few lessons on brushes and we identified that I’m still moving from my elbows and struggling to accent pressing the brush shoulder down into the snare. I also tend to notice going about day-to-day life that I’m often pretty tense, or rather not very loose.

Can anyone share what’s worked for them in trying to shift the effort from elbow to wrists? I’m hoping there isn’t a deeper physical issue here and it’s just a case of loosening up

Hey yall! Im applying to college rn and im looking for some songs that people think would be good to submit for an arts portfolio. Im leaning more toward jazz stuff, but any recommendations are welcome, still got some time to learn some of the stuff but if anyone has any suggestions/ tips that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

I switched from clear to coated and it feels like a new kit! I didn't expect that much of a difference.

I've wanted to drum my entire life as a 30yo. Finally two months in and i'm wondering if someone could give me some pointers in advancement.

I'm using stick control + a pad whenever I can to get better with sticking. I'm finding songs I like on Youtube and looking for sheet music/ just trying to play along. For ear I'm trying to play with rap music to work on my own creativity.

Overall I think it's going very well. I'd like to say I sound like I'm drumming which is neat. What advice would you offer and are lessons a huge upgrade? My plan is to get lessons after a year of self teachings.

I play electronic drums for fun and exercise. Over the years I have developed problems with my left foot both to its arch and metatarsals.

I don't think drums are the cause but I think it contributes.

So I am looking for advice on protecting my foot and not aggravating my injury.

Thanks

Hello, anyone here records/recorded with their Alesis Nitro Mesh kit, preferably on windows? I currently record using focusrite scarlett solo and it's not satisfactory.

The pictures look legit and the price feels like a great deal. It's still a hefty price...but I'm really thinking about going for it. Is this actually a good deal? Is there anything I should be worried about with FB marketplace cymbals / purchasing K Constantinople Mediums online?

The weight is 2686g

There’s so much energy and none of it is wasted

Hi everyone! I’d like to know if there are any drummers here who would be interested in starting an original music project. The style would be something along the lines of alternative metal, nu metal, or modern metal.

I’m currently a guitarist, but I also play bass, record music, and do other things related to music production. I already have riffs and ideas, but ideally, I’d love to find a drummer who can help bring this project to life.

The project would be entirely remote, with each of us recording our own parts and combining everything online. We could collaborate on the music, develop our ideas together, and eventually come up with a name for the project.

If you’re interested, feel free to send me a message! I hope I’m posting in the right group.

Cheers, and thanks! 🤘
