First-time Clarington voter — sell me on your mayoral pick (Foster vs Dingwall)
Hey all, just moved to Bowmanville (Ward 2) from Toronto and this is my first Clarington election. Trying to figure out the mayor's race before Oct 26.
Genuinely curious to hear both sides:
- Dingwall voters — what's your best case for him over Foster?
- Foster voters — what's your best case for him over Dingwall?
Biggest thing I care about is property taxes, but open to whatever you think a newcomer should know. Keep it civil pls 🙏

We will stay with Foster, because he is respected and will work with the council elected to complete the projects and strategic plan in place for the city.
Dingwall literally is running to supplement his police pension, and to use his mayor powers to get back on the DRPS board maybe even to displace Willie Woo. From previous interactions and past drama involving Dingwall, it would be difficult for council to operate under his perceived governance or lack of discipline.

Vote for the person who you legitimately believe will improve cell service. And if they do it, we’ll all thank you.

I met Tom, he spoke about lowering/not increasing property taxes and reducing staffing expenditures on high paid government members.

I would advise you do your own due diligence and not get bias information from people.
Both parties should have a platform visible to the public. Start there and devise your own opinion based on the values you hold highest.
