General question Trying to go for foxy red
I got this pirate costume and the shirt is 100% polyester and was originally a beige color.
I got racing red and chocolate brown rit dye, used the whole bottle of red and a splash of the brown and this is how the top turned out :/ i had it in a big pot at the right temperature for about 45 minutes.
now… i’m assuming adding another bottle of red isn’t really going to do anything (unless you guys think it will) so i’m wondering what can i do to make this shirt a brighter, foxy (from fnaf) red? i don’t know how i feel about fabric paint since i don’t want the shirt to be crunchy and hard. Also, yes, the shirt said to wash on cold.
i almost wish i would’ve just left it alone :’) but i want to channel foxy as much as possible and i feel too much like im just a pirate when the shirt is just beige. (my skirt and corset is brown)
if there’s nothing i can do im just gonna have to bite the bullet and buy a separate shirt that will be the color i want

Did you use RIT Dyemore? I think the brown was a mistake. It often goes purplish.
Here is Orange Sun. https://www.ritdye.com/color-formulas/orange-sun/?type=203&hue=0&collection=0&collaboration=0

Some polyester just doesn’t want to take dye. I would try again with the Orange Sun, and if that doesn’t work just buy the shirt in the correct color.
