This way USA can accuse Ukraine of attacking US interests when they hit Russian data centers.Ā

Or run Russian cyber attacks from American soil, where Ukraine can't counterattack. I think that the Yandex attacks hurt.Ā
What's in it for trump? Russia can continue running bots against Americans.Ā

Thereās one today. Trump allies bought or already controlled all the major news networks and the tech industry is in bed with him. So theyāre doing everything they can in the US to suppress anything that is critical of the orange monkey, thatās why thereās not that much coverage anymore. Itās similar to what putin did when he came in power, made all media āstate sanctionedā, if you control the news, you can influence what people do and donāt see.

And yet, we had plenty of footage coming out of Iran during their popular uprising a while ago. And they had an actual media and internet black-out, unlike the US, which still has freely accessible, open internet and plenty of independent/non-captured media outlets left. Americans claiming that they cannot organize, are being silenced or unable to get footage into circulation are full of it and merely hiding behind a flimsy non-excuse to keep sitting around with their thumbs up their asses.

Edit: to everyone saying he will die soon. It doesn't matter. Once he has finished smashing down the institutions of your democracy, pushed into his third term, whatever, your democracy is gone. Each subsequent election will be more and more obviously rigged, like Russia. You need to save your democracy today, if you value it. I wish I could do it for you, but I can't.

2 years is a long time for Mordor, they are desperate for anything. End of the day the US will be the ultimate loser. The orange KGB asset has already made decades worth of damage already anyway. That's the whole point of the separation of powers in a functional democracy, so that the three pillars of power (the trias politica: the legislative, adjudicative and executive branches) oversee each other and keep each other in check. None of that is currently present in the US in any meaningful way.
16
u/Sigma_Function-1823 10h ago
US pays for Putin's compute which Putin then uses to further weaken the US.
Sounds equally as stupid as the US buying fuel from Russia , who are under domestic fuel restrictions due to Ukrainian action , and importing said fuel from Iran which they then resell to the US while being at war with Iran.

Russia and the US are negotiating joint initiatives focused on data center infrastructure, according to statements made by Kirill Dmitriev, a special envoy for Russian leader Vladimir Putin, on October 16.
Speaking at the Russian Energy Week (REW 2026) forum in Moscow, Dmitriev claimed that both nations are preparing to announce key joint programs in the near future, as reported by Interfax.
We bring you stories from the ground. Your support keeps our team in the field.
Dmitriev noted that the scope of discussions between the two countries covers a broad portfolio of initiatives. He suggested that initial progress is being made despite significant opposition to the talks.
"Understandably, everything is progressing with considerable difficulty, and there is resistanceāincluding heavy pushback from various sides. However, as the diesel example demonstrates, I believe we will announce several other major initiatives in the near future," he said.
According to the Kremlin envoy, a concrete list of projects has already been framed, with several Russian companies actively participating in the preliminary stages.
Among the proposals being explored is the potential use of capacity from Russian nuclear power plants to support these data infrastructure initiatives.
Previously, US President Donald Trump announced that he had held a discussion with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, during which the two agreed on significant Russian diesel fuel shipments to American and global markets.
Under the arrangement, Russia was set to deliver over 300,000 tons of diesel immediately, followed by an additional 500,000 tons in November and 1 million tons shortly after, with plans to eventually supply 3 million tons as refinery conditions permitted.
Trump emphasized that these energy shipments, combined with full control over the Strait of Hormuz, would rapidly drive diesel prices down to record lows worldwide.
Following Ukraineās strikes on three major Yandex data centers between October 8 and 9, internet infrastructure and digital services across Russia experienced severe disruption.
The attacks targeted key facilities in the Ryazan, Kaluga, and Vladimir regions, damaging high-performance supercomputers and knocking critical platformsāincluding Yandex Cloud, Yandex Pay, navigation apps, and search servicesāoffline.
Beyond disrupting domestic commerce and state-aligned communications, the strikes led to a marked drop in automated web traffic and pro-Russian bot activity, significantly curtailing high-profile disinformation campaigns on international social media networks.
