France Nvidia bought doctolib

Today on France Info radio, I heard that NVIDIA is investing in Europe and has “bought” Doctolib. I haven’t looked into it or checked sources yet, but if this is true, goodbye privacy—and all the medical data stored there. Personally, I try to avoid interacting with medical platforms as much as possible, but by now it’s become an obstacle course. I’ve resigned myself to it.

Unless I’m buying Nvidia when getting 2 shares

I can give you $5. Hope that's enough to buy them. We then can finally support all the gamers with a 5090 supported with AI money.

Nvidea is the same as giving palantir straight access.

That sounds bad, but GDPR still applies.

Yes but probably irrelevant..

There is a massive literature on "privacy preserving machine learning", which roughly splits into cryptographic and non-cryptographic.

At a high level, the cryptographic flavour might work so long as you're happy multiplying your CPU time costs by some large factor, maybe a thousand or maybe a million or sometimes much much worse. An LLM company cannot afford to multiply their CPU time costs even ten fold.

Non-cryptographic protocols could be far more efficient, but afaik they always wind up being broken eventually.

Ergo, we'd expect some nVidea subsidiary trains health LLMs upon the French healthcare data using non-cryptographic privacy schemes, but (a) does not fully account for what users wish hidden, (b) someone later breaks that scheme, and (c) nobody wants to pull that LLM model from production.

It'll be a consequence free way to violate GDPR by making everything complicated & technical.
