Beau Brungard breaks Youngstown States career rushing TD record.

Beau Brungard has rushed for 56 TDs. I suppose if they go far enough in the playoffs he has an outside chance at the FCS career rushing TDs record by a QB (70) but seems unlikely.

He does have a chance to own all of YSUs rushing and passing records (minus rushing yards) for a career.

He will get a free agent contract I guess. If he does he needs to fully take advantage of it. Steelers?

They seem to be focusing on having him pass more this season. Or it could just be that teams are finally putting all they can into forcing him to use his arm instead of letting use his legs. All I know is that the dude can throw it on a dime and that I’m perfectly happy with him throwing the ball vs running.

Only other thing I’ve considered is that maybe he’s being more mindful about running and trying to stay healthy (especially early on in the season) and being more selective with his run opportunities. Last season it seemed like he took more chances with running the ball (which luckily worked out in his favor) and maybe he’s knows that sooner or later that luck may run out. It’s better for him to stay healthy and in the lineup than it is for him to have 200+ rushing yards a game and with the O line he has it just makes sense to stay back and throw it than to run around like a wild man and risk injury and set the team back.

Realistically what’s stopping Brungard from getting drafted after this year?? Assuming he becomes a 2x Walter Payton winner, he just set the YSU rushing td record and is a legit duel threat. What makes him any worse of a prospect then someone like Trey lance was? the main difference between lance and brungard is that lance is 6’4” but even then brungard is taller than some current QBs like Bryce young
