AI sidebar is causing stupid memory usage , even with no interaction
Chat gpt did the same thing
No one else seeing this disaster ?

Because you're loading up what's effectively an additional tab dude

Still 2GB for ONE additional tab is ridiculous..
Chatbot UI is simple, it is not an OpenGL 3D graphics demo with fancy effects...

It's not just about the html being rendered.
Most AI websites are not made well. I can't speak for Claude but the gpt website used to be unusable after a few chats.
Have you tried comparing with the raw website?

dude, better to keep silent, then prove your cluelessness

No need to be rude. I get you're frustrated but take a few deep breaths, it'll be okay.
This isn't likely a Firefox specific problem though, like the comment you're pissed at said, you're loading the Claude website in the sidebar. Sometimes sites use a ton of memory.

Uh, ai doesnt use 4 gig when U arent even asking it anything. Why are people so ignorant here ?
dont even bother to defend

Tabs stay in memory so they are available for when you return to them. Many websites have memory leaks or other poor coding practices that cause memory bloat.
You don't seem to know enough about these things to be as arrogant as your being in this thread lol

Well maybe you should've spent a little more time learning how to interact with other people. There's a reason you're getting downvoted, if you can't tell.

lol, like i said, i forgot more about computers than most here. This is the crowd that opens 600 tabs, then complains they lost them all when firefox crashes

This forum is not official. If you are knowledgeable about computers, it would be nice of you to report this to Bugzilla. Use more formal neutral language there though.

Install their app on your cellphone and see how faster it loses battery and how harder it is to use anything.
Really, keep it as controlled as possible, and the sidebar feature is sure not recommended to anyone.

The AI sidebar is essentially just a tab, and it seems that uBlock cannot function properly within it.
