First Time

I finally saw Akira for the first time with the recent re release in September and omg this might be one of my new favorite animated films of all time omg I went in knowing nothing besides the meme and the Akira slide and I came out going holy shit from the animation to the story to the music and the characters I really loved every second of this masterpiece

I remember when I found more serious anime and movies the "big 3" were Akira, Ghost in the Shell and Ninja Scroll.

It is a crazy movie.

All three of these movies happened to be re-released in theatres this year (Ninja Scroll I think just left theatres a week or two ago unfortunately). Ninja Scroll is fantastic as well!

It only gets better on rewatches. It's truly an incredible film that stands shoulder to shoulder with the best of non-animated media.

The detail in the background is just stunning. One particular example is when the psychic kid screams and the windows all shatter. The city has so much detail.
