Black Magic?

I bought some chicken breast that had a slimy and sticky texture but smelled fine and was perfectly pink and says use by 10/22. I keep seeing mixed information especially about chicken purge which is the normal slimeyness in prepackaged raw chicken. My question is if it is safe to use given that it seemed to stop being slimey when I patted it dry and there was no other indicators of spoilage? There was just a consistent layer of sticky water-like fluid on the chicken breast that smelled like raw chicken (not off). It was stored properly at home and used the same day i bought it from the market (today)

Paranoid mum here, trying not to give my son botulism. And now I’m forgetting if all canned corn comes like this?? This is the Woolworths Macro Organic brand.

I don’t think it would be as I bought my lunchable today and it isn’t expired or anything, but I’m not sure. Maybe the oven the dough was cooked in had some burnt buildup?

Curious if anyone has seen this before and if it's safe to eat. I got this Amy's pad thai dinner at Walmart. I've enjoyed this same frozen dinner many times before. This one I'm afraid got defrosted and then put back in the freezer because the sauce is all spilled out under the tray inside the wrapper. Also it's super weird that the sauce is totally liquid in there right now, even though i just took it out of my (working fine) freezer a minute ago.

Just curious if this is a worm or a capillary? I know it’s safe either way since it’s cooked.

I looked around a lot online and results are very torn between “mold” and “uneven ripening from heat treatment.”

Hi all, I just cleaned about 6lbs of shrimp and found something weird. They're fresh from the gulf, just been on ice for a couple of days but not frozen because the heads were still on. Out of all 6lbs one had this weird white stuff in it where the poop shoot is. There was a patch of it on the side just behind the head too, maybe it was a wound? Idk, anybody know what this is and if its safe to clean out and still eat the shrimp? - I already threw the shrimp away, im just curious now. Thank you

I have a jar of peanut butter that fell in a lake while kayaking. The lid was screwed on but a tiny bit of water got in it. Can I just scrape off the peanut butter on the surface and sides and shit touching the water and eat the rest underneath or could the water and bacterias and shit have penetrated through the whole jar?

Hello!
I have an old Coleman cooler and about 10 ice packs and I want to transport frozen minced turkey, salmon, chicken, frozen lemon juice and a bunch of fridge products on a 6 hour road trip. I know that the food will be safe to eat, but does anyone have any tips to ensure it’s frozen when I get there? I want to be able to throw it back in the freezer when I get to my destination without issue.
Thank you in advance!

I’ve been keeping my cheese strings in the door of fridge. Just recently learned that you should only keep things like condiments on the side of the fridge. Are my cheese strings still safe to eat?

I know the dent is incredibly tiny, but I have OCD so I'm trying to get a good understanding of the rules, and the standard guide with the photos that everyone shares doesn't really illustrate a can with a seal on the bottom vs no seal.
I included reference photos with comparison to what I think IS a can with a seal on the bottom? I just want to make sure I'm understanding like, what a seal looks like.

I made myself a nice cup of bone broth this morning. I noticed a large fly on the wall (maybe solder fly-idk). I turned around and a second later noticed a large black blob in my drink. He wasn’t on the wall anymore, he was dead in my broth next to the peas 😵💫 logically, im sure it’s fine to drink. I’ve probably had many flies before without realizing, but I would like some reassurance it’s not as gross as I think

I left out cooked salmon, rice and broccoli for close to 2.5 hours. I put it in containers to cool, and completely forgot it on the counter.
Should I toss it? Is there any way to tell its sage to eat?
Thanks

Electricity pole in our neighborhood went down. The entire block was out of power for 2 days.
By the time we came back, the food in the freezer was frozen & power was restored.
Are there any test strips we can use to see if the food is still safe to eat? Or, is the only option to smell after thawing?

Is there something wrong with the Santini parmesan cheese I bought? Just opened it now and it is very different from the opened one in my ref. New and not expired one is more yellow and chunkier vs the opened one which is whiter and finely grated. Any thoughts?

Ate some canned Albacore tuna in oil for lunch today and I accidentally ate a little of a black growth that my fork scraped off of the bottom of the can. I don't know what the expiration date of the tuna was (I threw away the can after I noticed the growth), but it did not taste spoiled or off, there was no odor, and the can wasn't dented or bulging anywhere. The growth is very black, thin, and scrapes off of the bottom of the can easily. I thought the flakes I found in the meat were fish skin. It's been about two hours since I've eaten and I've had no symptoms of poisoning so far. Could the growth be iron sulfide? Thank you in advance.
