I used to have a number that was almost the same as Pizza Hut's, and constantly got people trying to order pizza. I'd "take their order" and tell them it would be there in 30 mins, then not answer when they called back furious that their food hadn't arrived yet
Not gonna lie, if you had actually told them, "baked smurf" rather than your actual name, that was probably someone in the kitchens nickname and would've gotten them fired.
My parent's phone number is very close to the doctor's office in our town and we'd get calls pretty regularly. One old guy would not believe me that he dialed the wrong number so I had to just hang up. I imagine he dialed the right number and yelled at them and they had no idea what he was talking about.
I had a co-worker whose office phone number was the same (except for the area code) as the police department in the town across the river. At least once a week he would get a call asking how to bail little Johnny out of jail, or some such.
I worked in a Domino's that had a similar number to a local taxi service. People would call and often we'd have their details already because they'd ordered from us before, or they'd give their name and adress, and then when we'd try to actually take their order, they'd just say a number of people and a suburb name.
