i watched the video and... not really hyped lol. IDK. Maybe I am getting too old. Maybe I am still jaded from them abandoning single player for GTAV, or abandoning LA Noire.
There are those of us that agree. And also all I hear about this game is that it's going to do so well, and that's good for the executives at TakeTwo, but what are WE actually excited about in this GTA specifically? It doesn't feel like there's really a big unique draw that people can't stop talking about. From the comments, people just seem hyped about the hype itself.
I'm so bored of hearing "this is going to be the biggest and best selling thing ever!!!!!" - it's probably true, sure, but everyone repeating it like it hasn't been said a billion times already just starts to sound like white noise, or propaganda. This isn't how the hype for the previous GTA games went at all. We were actually excited about specific things, not just graphics and "it's another GTA/Rockstar game"...
An 80 hour main story, hurricanes, 700 shops, 600 000 animations, more side activities than IV and V combined, RP mechanics, aim assist nerfed to death, hundreds of random encounters, 170 animal species, a map 3 times bigger than RDR2, and a world density 11 times higher than GTA V.
On top of that Rockstar became the first studio in gaming history to create an entire branch dedicated to NPCs. I'm not talking about a sub team, but a brand-new studio built specifically for NPCs. What else is missing for you? Genuinely asking
The Ubisoft formula consists of hundreds of copy pasted question marks filling the map and NPCs being lifeless cones. This thread isn't about Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, why did you mention Ubisoft out of nowhere?
There's a mention but zero explanation. Just like there was no answer to my original question. Guess I should get used to the surface level thinking around here
It looks tonally bland, no GTA X factor and I’m unimpressed the marketing has solely focused on their “girl meets boy” story I already don’t care about
Plus I can’t ignore the million red flags. GTAO got predatory and scummy with mobile game mechanics. Dan Houser and Leslie Benzies left. Overpriced bullshit collectors edition. No disc and higher price. Game apparently changed direction several times. Barely shown an ounce of gameplay. No mention of online. Union busting. Zero satire. Red dead was boring.
Jury is so fucking out and I certainly won’t be pre ordering
