Travel Tips Wanted Gay Cruise for Solo Traveler

Can a solo traveler join a gay cruise? I heard about some cruises offering solo traveler a twin share cabin with another person also on solo. It’s about saving on cost, I guess. Which gay cruises offer this?

Travel Friends / Meetups Travel Buddies Wanted :)

Hey all! 37M Looking for someone to take trips with. I work for American and Hilton so I truly have the greatest setup ever! But I’m always looking for travel buddies, I do a lot of solo travel because most people don’t have the ability or the flexibility that I have so that’s why I’m posting. It’s always nice to see new places and explore with someone else. Super easy to get along with, I’ve done random trips with people from other travel buddy sites and it’s gone great. Love random trips and encounters!

21M gay guy from India invading Bangkok & Pattaya 🇹🇭💅

Looking for friends to hit gay clubs, find cute beaches, wear slutty swimwear, eat cheap street food, and have a luxury experience on a struggling man's budget.

Budget: crying. Vibes: immaculate.

Also accepting applications from cute Thai men for a potential romantic subplot. Hahaha 👀

Let’s make questionable decisions and unforgettable memories!

Travel Tips Wanted 28M, gay and single. Looking for places that make you feel truly free, alive, and in awe of the world (US + international hidden gems)

Hey everyone, I'm 28, gay, newly single, and living in NYC. I want to travel more, explore unfamiliar places, meet interesting people, and rediscover a sense of adventure and spontaneity.

One of the best trips of my life was to Mazunte and Zipolite in Oaxaca, Mexico. I loved the beaches, nudity, sexual freedom, nature, spirituality, open-minded people, and spontaneous adventures. I also did a temazcal ceremony that was physically and emotionally intense, but incredibly freeing, and I'm looking for other places around the world that offer a similar sense of freedom.

I love nature and wildlife (things like forest tours, zip-lining, etc) sex-positive/body-positive environments (nude beaches for example), spirituality and connection (meaningful ceremonies, meditation, cultural experiences), and spontaneity and adventure. I'd also love to meet new people and make friends.

I'm not necessarily looking for a party destination or a hookup trip, but I'm open to those experiences. Some places on my list are Hawaii's Big Island, Big Sur, Palm Springs, Maspalomas, Sitges, Lisbon, Costa Rica, Thailand, Bali, and Cape Town. I'd especially love to hear about the lesser-known destinations, unique retreats, or hidden gems (US and international) that I might not discover otherwise.

Any tips or personal experiences are greatly appreciated!

Travel Tips Wanted New Orleans Trip

Hi, I’m a 23 year old guy looking to book a solo vacation to New Orleans next year as from the UK. I’ve always wanted to go and I wanted advice on things like where are really nice places to stay hotels, restaurants, clubs/bars, gay scene(as I’m bi), tours, things to do etc. if something is pricey I’m not bothered as it’s something I want to to cross off my bucket list. Kind of a boujee person but I would like to treat myself to this trip properly so no recommendations are off the table

Thank you in advance ❤️

Travel Tips Wanted Solo gay Australia trip November 6–25: Sydney, Cairns, and Melbourne recommendations?

Hi gays Trixie voice,

I’m coming from California for a solo trip to Australia and would love recommendations from anyone who’s been or lives there! I’m 37, and my itinerary is:

  • Sydney: November 6–16, staying in Central Sydney.
  • Cairns: November 16–19.
  • Melbourne: November 19–25.

I love leaning into a city when I visit somewhere new. I’m into museums, shopping, eating really good food, and wandering interesting neighborhoods. I’m also into sex-positive spaces (not shy about that, kind of a whore tbh).

I’m sober, but still love nightlife, dancing, and a good drag show. I tend to travel without a rigid itinerary, but like having great recommendations in my back pocket.

I’d love your thoughts on any or all of these:

  • Gay nightlife: Favorite bars, clubs, drag shows, or parties in these cities? Especially places where it’s comfortable to show up solo and meet people. Any specific events happening during my dates?
  • Sex-positive spaces: Recommendations for saunas, bathhouses, sex clubs, or events? Tips on entry, etiquette, best times to go, and the general crowd or vibe would be appreciated.
  • Food and coffee: What shouldn’t I miss? Anything from a great casual solo meal to somewhere worth splurging on.
  • Culture and exploring: Favorite museums, galleries, shopping areas, markets, or neighborhoods to wander? What makes each place special to you?
  • Beaches: Any gay favorites or other beaches worth visiting? Local etiquette and practical tips are welcome.
  • Getting around: How useful are bike shares or rental e-bikes in each city? Does cycling feel reasonably safe, or would you stick to public transit, walking, and rideshares? Any tips on fares, passes, or paying for transit?
  • Recovery: Any LGBTQ-friendly recovery meetings you’d recommend?
  • Meeting people: Any good ways to connect with locals or other gay travelers beyond the apps?

For Cairns, I only have a few days, so I’d especially love advice on what to prioritize, including reef or rainforest experiences that work well for a solo traveler.

I’m keeping my Sydney and Melbourne time focused on the cities themselves. If you’ve done a similar trip, I’d love to hear what you enjoyed most, what needed advance booking, and anything you wish you’d known before arriving.

Thanks in advance! Excited to explore Australia!

Travel Tips Wanted Vacationing in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico 10/22-10/26

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 😃🤙🏼

Next week, my friends and I are heading down from Tucson to Puerto Peñasco to celebrate my 51st birthday! 🥳🎂🍻 We’ll be staying at Playa Bonita RV Resort, and I can’t wait to get back down there!

It’s been about two years since our last visit, so I’m curious to hear what’s new! We’ve always had a great time in Rocky Point and have found it to be very gay friendly 🏳️‍🌈, which is one of the many reasons we love visiting.

🍹Bars & nightlife: Any new bars, beach bars, or clubs worth checking out? We love lively places, good music, cold drinks, and a fun crowd!

🌮 Restaurants: Any new restaurants we shouldn’t miss?

💆🏻Massages: Also looking to a good massage while we’re there! Any recommendations would be appreciated especially for foot/leg massage.

🎉 Events: Anything fun happening the weekend of October 23–25? Live music, parties, special events, or anything else worth checking out?

🏈 BEAR DOWN! 🐻⬇️ We’re HUGE University of Arizona fans and need a fun, lively sports bar to watch the Wildcats take on Iowa State on Saturday, October 24 (Homecoming weekend)! Bonus points if there are other Wildcat fans there!

🌈 Gay friendly spots: Any particular bars or hangouts where we might meet other gay travelers or locals? We’re always up for making new friends!

We’re a friendly, outgoing group who love meeting new people, sharing laughs, and having a great time. If you’re going to be down there that weekend, or on the Malecósay hello! Who knows, maybe we’ll end up having drinks together or downing some shots! 🍻🥃🤩

Follow me to see where we are at and what we are up to! 😃🙌🏼✅

Cheers! 🎉

Other Travel Questions? Second thoughts on Uzbekistan

I booked a refundable ticket to Uzbekistan for May for eight days. Flying into Samarkand, out of Bukhara. It’s a solo trip.

I’ve been following this subreddit a month, and really have enjoyed the diversity of opinions. However, I worry about it being a stressful trip. I’m well traveled and have been to 60 countries on every continent. While I’ve never been to Central Asia, I’ve travelled in Turkey and Jordan. I worry a bit about the homophobia; I’m a gay man, age 47, from the US with extensive tattoos. I don’t plan to advertise that I’m gay, or look for gay people.

My ticket itinerary to Samarkand was changed by the airline. It was a 22 hour flight, and now it’s 32 hours with an overnight layover in Istanbul. I can look for alternative tickets but is it still worth it? The photos are beautiful, the food looks great, and I hear people are warm and friendly. I like cities, archaeology, museums, and good food.

Am I going to enjoy this trip still? I can easily change to another country because it’s refundable.

Travel Tips Wanted November: Cambodia/Vietnam or the Philippines?

Guys,

I, M47, have about 2.5 weeks in the second half of November , starting in Bangkok and ending in Singapore. I’m torn between two options:

A) Cambodia + southern Vietnam: Siem Reap (Angkor), Phnom Penh, Saigon, then on to KL/Singapore

B) Philippines: El Nido, Coron, Bohol, Moalboal, then on to Singapore

I’d love to hear from people who’ve done either one, especially in November:

  • Weather: How bad is the tail end of the rainy/typhoon season in the Philippines in late November? Is Cambodia/Vietnam reliably dry by then?
  • Fun: Which one was more memorable for you? Temples, history and city food, or islands, boats and snorkeling?
  • Costs: Which is cheaper on the ground? The Philippines seems to need more domestic flights and ferries. Does that add up?
  • Logistics: Is island-hopping in the Philippines with this little time doable, or will I spend half the trip in transit?

I’m travelling solo, mid-budget, and I’m fine with some moving around. I just don’t want to spend 18 days chasing ferries in the rain. Also I would like to connect to locals for anything possible (food, sightseeing, activities, fun).

Cheers!

Travel Friends / Meetups 45M Taiwanese-American visiting Taipei & Kaohsiung this December – Looking to connect & explore the LGBTQ+ scene!

Hi everyone! I’m a 45-year-old Taiwanese-American heading back to Taiwan this December for Christmas and New Year. I moved to the US 30 years ago, and this will only be my third time visiting, so I’m incredibly excited to reconnect with my roots!

I’ll be spending time in both Taipei and Kaohsiung. I’m looking to make some new friends to grab a drink, check out local events, and show me around. I really want to experience and explore Taiwan's famous gay scene while I'm there.

Does anyone have recommendations for Christmas or New Year activities/parties in either city? Also, if you’re local or also traveling and want to meet up, feel free to reach out. I'd love to connect! Thanks!

If anyone has some recommendations, feel free to leave it in the comments! (+ non-gay things are fine too)
Plus, It would be nice to hang out and explore together since I’m traveling alone. Doesn’t matter if you are a local or a traveler. (I’m Korean btw)
