Text puzzles
How do these work? There is a (?) Cache that just has a text about the history of newspapers. No numbers mentioned.
At the bottom it says "read carefully and you will find the cache".
Do i need to count words or look for certain words?
Not asking for the solution. Just need some guidelines on how to interprete this kind of puzzles.

There is no general answer to "how do these puzzles work?" There a thousands of different puzzles; each works in a different way. If you want help on a specific puzzle, try r/geocachingpuzzles . Be sure to read the sub rules and include the GC code of the cache in question in your post title.

Did you see the additional waypoint?

No. Don't even know what they are. I've only done some basic puzzles so far.

Well there you go then. You can't figure out how to get coordinates from the text because they aren't in the text.

Thanks. I'll read up on waypoints. Didn't have to use them before with other caches.

on mystery text caches the coords are usually buried in the writing itself, like first letters of each sentence, oddly capitalized letters, or numbers written as words. id print it and mark anything that looks stressed or repeated before you start counting words, and leave the actual solve out of the logs

If there are events / meetups near you, asking people for suggestions on a puzzle can be a great way to start a conversation.

Share puzzle's gc code. It literally could be anything. Capital letters, words order, word value, sentence value , places, book and many more.
It could even be Morse/binary code hidden into words
