Chris Cole

Enough about the Alabama game, its over, we move.

Let's talk about the season Chris Cole is having. We all know Arvell Reese from Ohio State last year was a very physically impressive player who had a great season. Here were his numbers through 14 games:

34 solo tackles, 35 assisted tackles, 10.0 TFL, 6.5 Sacks, 0 INT, 2 passes defended, 0 fumbles forced, 0 fumbles recovered, 0 TDs.

Here is what Chris Cole has done through 6 games so far this season:

21 solo tackles, 9 assisted tackles, 7.5 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 0 INT, 3 passes defended, 0 fumbles forced, 2 fumbles recovered, 1 TD

Kid's an absolute wrecking crew out there. What's wild is he's already got more TFL in six games than most linebackers dream of in a full season

The fumble recoveries and that TD are just the cherry on top, shows he's got that nose for the ball you can't really teach. Dude's playing with his hair on fire and I'm here for every second of it

Reese had a monster year but Cole's on pace to blow those numbers outta the water if he keeps this up. The defense would look completely different without him flying around

The numbers are very misleading in how awesome Cole is too. He has a shit ton of pressures and havoc plays that disrupts the offense and forces the QB to get rid of the ball

Even if he doesn't have #s, DCs will absolutely have to account for him going forward. I love that our own OL gave him the nickname, The Tarantula.

I do think slenderman is a funny second option, heard some of the DB’s call him that cause his fingertips damn near touch his knees

If we ever had night games they should use the stadium red lights when he makes big plays the same way the Phillies did with their closer Duran "Durantula". If you haven't seen it google his entrance song it's awesome.

Love this. I truly believe that he has a legitimate shot at being the first defender taken in the draft. I also don’t think it’s a stretch that he goes before some of these quarterbacks back everyone thought could go high during the preseason.
