Absolutely no sale posts. This sub is not intended for advertising trucks for sale. That type of content will add nothing positive to the dynamics of this sub, and won’t be allowed. Not sure what caused the sudden increase in sale posts over the past few days, but if it continues, salesmen will start getting banned.

1996 Sierra to a 2025 Sierra. Absolutely wild how different these are but I still like it. Only downside now is no more 8ft bed.

Asking for Opinions Extended Warranty offers

I have about 6 months left on my 2024 Sierra (turbomax) 3-yr/ 36k warranty. Bought new in 2024 and they are offering me a 5 yr/ 75k warranty for $3400.

Is this a good deal? I have about 26k miles currently and haven’t had any issues knock on wood.

Had to do all of the ball joints. Figured I may as well do the upper UCAs and wheel bearing while I’m at it. Also found out my ball joint press was too small to install the new lowers. Guess it will sit like this for the rest of the week until the XL press arrives.

I’d give this a 4 out of 10. Least favorite job to do. And a gravel driveway makes this torture.

2018 sierra with 130,000 miles.

🔧Maintenance 🔧 MAP Sensor

Replaced my MAP sensor today on my 2025 LZO. At a touch over 32000 miles. Not as bad as some pictures I’ve seen but pretty gunked up. Sure would be nice not to have so much oil/egr in the intake system.

🔧Performance Upgrades 🔧 2013 Sierra 5.3L—maintenance tips and upgrade ideas?

• Upvotes

Picked up this 2013 Sierra 5.3L with 190k miles on it for a good price. It currently has an S&B air intake on it, and the plan is just to use it as a fun weekend truck.
Since it's got some miles on it, what key preventative maintenance or common trouble spots should I look out for?
Also, what are your favorite upgrades to make these trucks a little more fun to drive? Might want to get a deeper sound from it .Curiosity to hear what you guys have! Also open to appearance suggestions as well.

Hello, I'm about to buy my buddies GMC 2022 1500 6.2 L V8 at4. It has 78,000 miles and he's used it for some light Towing on a boat. I think he's the only owner and I trust him for doing general maintenance. I'm going to buy it for it 34,500. It's going to the dealership to get tested for the bearing issue. I'm considering doing a transmission and front / rear differential flush immediately good can you guys give me any insight on things I should look out for or expect moving forward

Troubleshooting 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali 3.0L Duramax - Transmission and Engine Shudder - 5th trip to dealer

Post image
3 Upvotes

At ~33k miles, the truck started having issues with a hard vehicle shudder at highway speeds (30–60 mph). The issue felt like it was in the transmission and was slamming between gears

Here's the history so far:
Visit 1 — Dealer replaced the valve body (gen 3 revision). Issue returned worse within a day.

Visit 2 — Dealer couldn't duplicate the concern on a short test drive, found no codes, opened a GM TAC case. No repairs made.

Visit 3 — Dealer found the C1 clutch had scorched/failed, along with a failed stator bracket. Replaced both.
Issue returned — Picked up the truck, noticed a vibration immediately, and the same shudder came back over the following weekend while towing.

Visit 4 — Dealer installed a full replacement transmission.
Issue returned again — Same shudder, but this time with a check engine light and reduced power. Codes pulled showed:
Fuel system faults: P0087 (fuel rail low pressure), P228C (fuel pressure regulator performance - low pressure), P0336 (crankshaft position sensor performance)
A large cluster of network/communication faults across the TCM, ECM, brake control module, power steering module, and central gateway module

Visit 5 - The engine actually shut down while driving, at the same moment the vehicle was shuddering. New codes included P228A and P228B "Forced Engine Shutdown" faults tied to the fuel pressure regulator.

At this point I’m just trying to figure out what my options are to help the dealer diagnose. Also exploring a buy back but the lemon law won’t cover it since I bought used from a dealer without it being certified pre owned.

Asking for Opinions Picked up my dream AT4 yesterday, but this rain has me paranoid about the interior lol. What mats are you running?

I literally got the truck yesterday, and I'm already nervous about tracking mud all over the factory floors. Everyone says weathertech, but I honestly don't like that hard, plasticky work-truck look. I saw some custom ones online with a snap-on carpet layer over the all-weather base, which looks much cleaner and matches the gmc interior styling. The company is called 3w, but I've never heard of them in the truck community. Are they actually a good brand that can hold up to boots, or am I just getting hit with social media ads lol? do they clip perfectly into the gmc floor pegs, or do they slide around? I need to order something tonight before I mess up this interior tbh.

Looking for advice Cosmetic suggestions

Looking for suggestions. 2014-2108 Sierra or Silerado. I’ve been kicking around the idea of getting rid of some of the chrome. Has anyone taken off the chrome door trim (left the chrome window trim) swapped the door handles to black or paint match and swapped the mirror caps to black or paint match. Drop some pictures if you have

Started here asking how to justify it, then debating EV vs. Ultimate, then worrying about whether my work pants would destroy the seats.

Finally pulled the trigger on a Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate—and yes, it actually fits in my driveway 😂

Thanks to everyone who answered my questions and helped convince me to go for it. You guys are a terrible influence lol.

Now let’s see if the seats survive the Duluth pants.

Lighting License plate lights aren’t working

Got a 2021 sierra that has been taking a beating lately. Got rear ended pretty badly. Insurance company would definitely total it but I am choosing to keep it because i am not getting any moneys. I didn’t notice if the license plate lights were working but I’ve checked voltage with a multimeter and the sockets do get power. I recently also put on some aftermarket tail lights and I’m wondering if that could be the issue. When I took off the old bulbs they were burnt out. Could it have the new Amazon lights? Or should I check wiring or somewhere else perhaps?

🔧Performance Upgrades 🔧 is the front canister the biggest downside of a powered cover?

I use the full bed of my GMC Sierra for bulky stuff, so losing space near the cab might be a bigger issue than the convenience of a powered cover. How much bed length did the canister take up, and did it get in the way of dividers or other cargo accessories?

Choosing a Truck Thoughts on Truck

Any thoughts on a 2022 Sierra Elevation. Cayenne red with 46k miles. Canadian truck with no rust issues as far as I can tell. Dealer is aking 33k for it. Carfax looks good, but there was a transmission reprogrammed for one service so im curious about that. It does seem to have about 14 month of factory powertrain warranty left so that's good. I walked away today as they were trying to force 1200 paint protection onto the deal. Any thoughts appreciated. It's also been sitting in their inventory for 250 days.

Just Sharing Getting Annoyed

Got my 2022 2.7 Elevation in November 2022. I have 54,000 miles. I’m basically nearing the full payoff point. I wanted to keep this truck for 10+ years and stop getting new cars every 4-5.. but I’m at the point I want to get a used truck elsewhere. Issues I’ve had

Ongoing from basically day 1:

- Back up camera turns off when dark outside
- significant rattle in passenger side dashboard or door frame
- Radio station changers on steering wheel randomly don’t work
- the built in Google Maps system was horrendously slow

Issues as time went on:

- Check engine light and reduced acceleration error (fixed itself with an oil change it seems so far)

- Major rumble while accelerating at highway speeds. Rumbles for about 3 seconds, stops, then will do it again a minute or two later. This is a current ongoing issue that feels like it could be a major problem.

Probably forgetting others. Every car has issues I get that but this is the most I’ve ever had in just a few years.

Looking for advice What to do with drop-in bedliner?

Assuming all goes as planned and they don’t try any funny business, I should be closing the deal on a new 2026 Sierra Elevation double cab tomorrow. It comes with the drop-in bedliner, which I don’t want. I’m likely going to take it out and get a spray in Line-X liner. So because I’ll essentially have a brand new drop-in bedliner, what can I do with it? I think the local pool that would want it would be pretty small and it’s way too big to ship.

Any suggestions are where to try to sell it? Would my local dealership have any interest in it? The dealer I’m buying from is out of state and I already told them I didn’t really want a drop-in bedliner but they don’t seem like they want to keep it or discount it. I also don’t really have the room to just have it laying around collecting dust. Open to suggestions!

Looking for advice How do you close the tailgate?

Just wondering how everyone else closes the tailgate.

Do you…

A: Close the step, lift the big tailgate then close the small tailgate?

B: Close the step, close the small tailgate, then the big tailgate?

C: Close the big tailgate, close the step then close the small tailgate?

D: You’re not a sissy and you don’t use the step and small tailgate and just use the big tailgate?

I’m A.

Thanks for your time!
