Yh but that's like the only reason he's put this in the first place, and it makes no sense. Guy's never played chess once in the series; why's he running a chess gauntlet?

Wait,, if he inherits the third eye which grants him the Sage’s wisdom, which gives heightened perception, doesn’t that kinda give him a buff? And since Daewi Han = 8 letters = The Winner, he wins.

Idk shit about anyone on this list other than Shika and Light (but it's been forever since I watched Death Note)

Daewi outsmarted The King multiple times while The King was actively trying to win. Even when he would cheat and start using the Sage's Eye then start boasting Daewi would proceed to still beat him in a single play 😭. Based on the narrative of their two on panel matches alongside the fact that the King loved to take on disguises to explore the world it seemed like they met and played together more times than that. Idk how much you can equate the King being 1,000+ and having the Sage's Eye/Wisdom to his skills in chess and chess-like games but yeah. Just wanted to give a lil insight on what I know about Daewi
