Sharing Work (Rule 2/3) Swiss style poster - which one do you prefer?

I tried designing swiss style poster which I might use as room decoration. I just can’t decide between the two versions before I send the design to printing service. So I would greatly appreciate to know people’s opinion on which one is more visually appealing.

Any potential advice is welcome as well!

The text in no. 1 doesn’t really make sense in German. It sounds like you want to change the format of the flag.

Oh really? I’m not really proficient in German so thanks. I thought erhöhen means to raise/erect.

It’s a very literal translation that sounds a bit off to me. You could go with „Hisst die rote Fahne“.

erhöhen usually means to increase something, like a price

yeah but not for a flag

It means "to increase", not "to raise" - to increase the flag sounds wrong in English too.

The German word for raising a flag is „Hissen“ not „Erhöhen“

Yes, if we translate your sentence as "Es literarisch meint "Erhöht die rote Fahne" was bist du auf??", then the sentence on the design also makes sense.

Immediately prefer 2.

Number 2, but I would use hanging punctuation for the quote. Now ‘die’ looks like it’s inset.

And does October 17 have something to do with Marxism, or is it just today’s date?

thanks for the advice and it’s just today’s date😅
Although, apparently, today’s when Karl Kautsky passed away.

Line spacing issue for the body copy

Yes, what can be done when using a lowercase text which makes the letters have different heights?

they both have some typography that needs additional work. if you wanna go swiss style typography is the most important thing to get right.

the first thing is the line-height. on the second the body text is too tight, no hanging punctuation.

on the first line 1+2 has a different spacing than 2+3.

thanks for the advice. I will work on the line spacing and hanging punctuation.

Nice start, but you really need to study Swiss design a lot more

May I know where I could improve on? I worked on line spacing and hanging punctuation from other comment’s advice.
