NPD Added this legend last night.
Turns out playing death metal is just as hard, even with the right pedal. But I press on. Because now I have a fucking HM-2!

Dude post the full board! Some sick ass fuzzes! Put the HM-2 first to slammed the others, ala Altar!

Good lord, run the HM-2 and the fuzz pedals? My guy, I'm not trying to burn my house down.

Yes! The trick is to keep the gain on the HM-2 low, basically using it like a boost w/ the chainsaw EQ to taste. You can also run them that way into a dirty amp like a bunch of the Swedish death metal bands back in the day.

I am looking for something a lil thicker than the SD1W, but I’ve always found the DS1’s fizz too obnoxious. Does this do less-extreme distortion pretty well? Great stuff you’ve got here?

If the heavy metal isn't your jam, try the metal zone. Especially the wazacraft version

Wish I could just try these two out somewhere.

They are relatively common pedals. If you have a Guitar Center in your neck of the woods, you could go test drive them there.

I have the Metal Zone, not the Waza one though. If you REALLY take the time to learn what all the knobs actually do, you can get AMAZING tone from it.

boss df-2 is what you’re looking for, but they’re a bit pricey and will need an eq pedal to be usable due to their low volume output

I don't run my HM-2W in Chainsaw mode but I still love it. It's one of my favorite pedals of all time.

I found that with certain pickups you can get away with dialing back the controls while still getting a chainsaw tone. I have a baritone that has a nazgul in the bridge and the high only needs to be around 3 o clock for that tone to be found. Same goes for the low control. It needs to be up for sure, but maxing all the knobs is kind of a joke. It works well into small practice amps and if your guitar has cheap pickups. Once you get high gain amps (I use 6505+s) into 412 cabs, you find you can dial back the gain almost all the way off while still sounding nasty.

Just a crazy good sounding pedal. How do you like the custom mode? Once I tried it I've never turned it off.

Oh really? I only played in standard mode last night (my first night with it). Custom mode is sick?

bro i just picked one of these up a week ago after using the modeled version on my hx one for years, the custom mode is insane

It's really good. A bit more gain and a tweaked EQ curve and sharper attack. I'm never turning it off.

Upvote for the alpha haunt. That’s the best fuzz ever made
