Picked up my first guitar with an Evertune yesterday, it’s fantastic, everything sounds better, my collection is in danger of having holes routed in them to install more

I was watching a rig rundown that Ola did with Parkway Drive's guitarist Jell Ling. He retrofitted an evertune and complained that it lost around 15% of the tone that that guitar had. To what Ola responded that Evertunes that are installed by the guitars manufacturer sound great while the ones fitted later do affect the tone.

I’m sure someone will argue with me about this, but it’s the same deal as a floating trem, the string isn’t attached to the body with an Evertune or a trem, so you miss out on that low mid resonant chunk that hard tails have

However the chord clarity you get from an evertune is a worthy trade I think

Is that a Mayones? I was looking a the Duvell 7 but they are... pricey, new, and near impossible to find used around me.

Big time it is yeah, this is the Regius which is their neck through model, I agree I’d never buy one new, I traded for a Regius 7 a few years ago and then traded that for this

They are fantastic instruments if you can find one used, I think value for money used they’re very good

Nice to hear some legit feedback from someone who has used them. Like a lot of instruments, the specs and photos look great on paper but you never know if you like it until you actually feel it, no matter how expensive it is haha

They are really perfectly made, when I got my first one I was so impressed at how the binding was cut perfectly, the backplates have threaded inserts for the screws not just screwed into wood like every other guitar

I have an Aristides which I think I’m going to try to trade for another Mayo

I had a 2008 Explorer that i was trading/selling and just couldn't get enough back for it to bridge the gap and make it work. I ended up going with an ESP LTD Arrow 1000NT but, as all of us know, we never stop looking for the next instrument so these are definitely high on my list.... right after a Caparison Orbit.

I play since more than 40 ys and my Mayones Regius core classic is the best I ever had in my hands. Incredible quality. There is a reason why they are so expensive (and faked)

Evertunes are weird, some days I love them some days I hate them.

For rhythm work, especially when recording/tracking, they are a godsend. I can be very aggressive with my picking and I know the guitar would still be in tune (I use it in the no-bend zone). The clarity on chords and tremolo picking is ridiculous. That’s definitely +10 skills.

However, any sort of lead is VERY hard for me. I am actually a pretty bad lead guitarist, despite my 35+ year experience, but I can play simple solos effortlessly. Give a guitar with Evertune, and my solo skills drop by 50 skill points. I don’t know what it is exactly, but I feel like I’m fighting the guitar. It’s not a matter of sustain or resonance, plenty of both, or string tension, it’s just like I constantly had a noise gate ON at extremely high settings without having the notes chopped.

My big weak point is vibrato, mine kind of sucks, however the Evertune makes you purposefully bend the string, so it improves that for me! Hopefully that muscle memory translates to regular guitars

I hate Evertunes. They are more stable but it's not worth the trade off of not being able to bend normally. I play too much blues haha

I can do blusey bends all day long on my EverTune guitars. You just need to be at the Bend Stop.

You’re right it’s the Sean Long, love it, the colour is outrageous, it looks like it’s kind of glowing and 3D. The tuning is very stable, comes with quick connect wiring for the EMGs so it’s easy to swap them for other ones, although I’ve rewired it to have Fishmans

It’s my main guitar at the minute, use it all the time live, it got picked in the studio, my current plan is to buy another one and stick an Evertune in it

Highly recommended! This is my second Mayo, shame they’re prohibitively expensive otherwise I’d have several I think, going to look into configuring my own next year

Ain’t that the truth? My Regius Core and Duvell Elite are two of my never sell guitars and would love to get an Aquila or a Regius 7/4Ever but that’s just not in the budget right now lol.

I have an evertune and it seems to take twice the effort to bend 2 octaves up. I have some solos I can't even play on it. Yes I'm very aware of the 3 zones and how they work.

What sold me on wanting one as my next guitar is when Steve Stevens said he was trying to double track his guitar on a recent album and it was too perfect, so perfect it did not create a doubling effect.
