Hagerstown Officiants?
Hey all - I'm looking for a marriage officiant available on Halloween morning for an elopement. It's supposed to be very chill - just one guest at the C&O Canal. I got quoted $400 and I gotta be honest, I'm on disability and that's quite a bit of money. Our main focus is getting the date (a Saturday, so the court is closed) and having the officiant submit the paperwork. I hate the online officiant directories because they're all expensive people meant to make a formal event special - my wedding will be special because I'm getting married lol
Anyone know any officiants that can let us say our vows and get the paperwork done for (much) less? I'd prefer someone that has some experience submitting everything.

Congratulations! I got ordained through a site. I just forget which one at the moment. I have never done a ceremony though. I have been too nervous to mess up on my first one but I guess it takes practice. If you can’t find anyone (I think someone already posted they were available) and you’re ok with me being a complete newb, dm me. I would have to do research on the laws in Maryland for the paperwork but it shouldn’t be too hard. Reach out if you can’t find someone.
P.S. - I’m jelly because I wanted to have a zombie wedding on Halloween but it just wasn’t in the cards. Halloween is my favorite holiday. Congratulations again!

You can have a friend get "ordained" online with the Universal Life Church just to officiate your wedding. It was pretty much created to solve this exact problem. I know someone who did this for their wedding.
