Gaming These ai video game mash ups

I hate these stupid gimmicky ai slop video game mash ups. I genuinely do no care for them. Everyone is acting like it’s the coolest shit in the world, it’s a fucking gimmick you laugh at for 5 minutes before moving onto something with equal or less substance. It’s also more justification for ai being pushed into every little fucking thing for no reason.

They are honestly horrifying, the fact that ai is able to reverse engineer games like this.

And more are coming out every day my guy

Retro games are the easiest, the AI is making this much easier with modern titles

Where the fuck do you think the decomps came from?

https://github.com/FatalDecomp/ROLLER My friend and his buddies have spent a few years doing a decomp of Whiplash!  Now with multiplayer and custom maps

Do not discredit this shit so easily  Decomps are getting easier by the day

Everyone wants to act like AI is the purveyor, its just a human accelerator. This type of stuff was happening at a snails pace pre ai, and now its just accelerated, and the people that were moving at that snails pace pre ai? they are moving faster than ever before because it amplifies them. The tedious portion of the work is ideally just handed off to the ai.

It is also being used heavily for decomp itself

if i remember more accurately, though a bit roughly, all the ai does is run both games at the same time, and has a program to send data from one to the other

Yes, and to make that "connection" requires an insanely deep undestanding of the game's code which is why we require AI Assistance on the reverse engineering part

ah, fair counterpoint

no it doesn't. the AI does that understanding for you too.

There's no reverse engineering at all involved here, that's not how the mods work.

This is going to result in a push for "stream only" gaming again.

Why would you as a game publisher willingly put your game out there just so it can pirated in 5 minutes?

This is terrible news for everyone, and the shortsightedness of people who can't see how much worse it can get makes me sad.

and then it will be anti cheats. then firewalls, the massive security programs. then whatever the hell people can get their hands on to take advantage.

You’re more scared cause they can mod Elden ring?

its not just a mod, ai is literally reverse engineering entire video games.

Oh. Eli5 why I should be afraid of that?

I get it. That’s a lot of scary stuff to have to type out.

So it’s getting better?

I knew that already.

yes better, and with more and more ai breaching containment, and going rogue, and major companies having almost NO restrictions because lawmakers cant be arsed to try and catchup... its fuckin scary man, this shit isnt a joke.

Agreed.

This ain’t it tho.
