Gaming These ai video game mash ups

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I hate these stupid gimmicky ai slop video game mash ups. I genuinely do no care for them. Everyone is acting like it’s the coolest shit in the world, it’s a fucking gimmick you laugh at for 5 minutes before moving onto something with equal or less substance. It’s also more justification for ai being pushed into every little fucking thing for no reason.

I mean if nothing else it’s kinda fascinating that something like this is even possible, like I assume this is Elden Ring (please correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t played) and Mario 64, which are about 3 decades apart from each other in release dates and yet here I am watching Mario launch this giant behemoth off a cliff.

I really hope this inspires people to make mods like this without AI someday because this is a nuts concept (to me at least)

It’s theoretically possible to do without ai but the amount of effort , time and therefore money you would need is unfathomable compared to how fast devs can do it with the ai doing the longest and more time consuming part of the work (and we’ll ignore the fact that humans will do a lot of coding mistake that ai won’t do)

It is fascinating, while also being scary.

Also, I heard (don't quote me on this) that the way it works is by running both games at once, and the AI kinda overlaps them, and fucks with the code to get it to work. I'm not very tech savvy, so i can't explain it too well.

I've also heard (again, don't quote me on this) that Mario 64 is easy to inject into other games because it has been decompiled for a while.

Literally a multiversal collision.

It’s decompiling the two games to make them communicate, the decompiling part is the scary part. Because anything can be decompiled and used as one wishes

I'm pretty sure programmers/modders are the last people in the world who would refuse lessening their hard work.

people were porting mario 64 into other games before ai, the Minecraft mod "retro64" is a notable example, other mods have ported him into Doom, also speaking of Doom, people have done everything you can imagine with it without the use of ai. if fans get a hold of the source code they can do anything with it.

Well yes but now that people can see that it’s something BEYOND that they might be inspired to try and make their own (non ai) game mixes

You’re watching a video of it there is no proof this is actually in engine
