Gaming These ai video game mash ups

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I hate these stupid gimmicky ai slop video game mash ups. I genuinely do no care for them. Everyone is acting like it’s the coolest shit in the world, it’s a fucking gimmick you laugh at for 5 minutes before moving onto something with equal or less substance. It’s also more justification for ai being pushed into every little fucking thing for no reason.

TBF, you and the guy you’re arguing with are both kinda of right.

In the last few weeks there have been multiple Rust rewrites of older games, and projects like the MW2 and Skate 3 ones probably wouldn’t be practical without AI assisting the reverse engineering. So if you see mods involving those games, AI was likely needed to create these.

SkyCraft is not that though as Skyrim and Minecraft already have old modding APIs, so there isn’t really a need to decompile either game. They’re basically vibe-coding a bridge/client that lets both games run at the same time, passes data between them, and shifts Minecraft’s mechanics/rendering into Elden ring in this case.

The YouTuber Chasmmm is where I got most of this info, he sounds reasonably reliable and reading through the GitHub it seems like this is how it works but I'm no expert modder.

going from "You're the one misinformed, you don't understand how this works" to "I'm not an expert" in one comment is crazy work
