Access My account was randomly locked and now it’s inaccessible. Any hope of getting it back?
Posting this from an alternate account. Last week, I got a random notification that my very active account of 10+ years was locked due to “suspicious activity”, and that I had to reset my password. I was able to view posts still, but unable post or comment on anything myself.
So I followed the password reset instructions, but wasn’t receiving the reset link email. Tried this both from the Reddit app on my phone and my desktop browser when I got home from work, same result.
Decided to let a day pass and tried again the following day. This time, I was able to get the password reset link emailed to me, however after changing my password and trying to log in, I kept getting a “Something went wrong error” and was unable to log in successfully.
I loaded Reddit the following evening, and now all I see is the Reddit mascot lying face down with no ability to do anything. Account seems completely disabled.
Is there any way I can get my account back? What caused it to get locked in the first place? I noticed a lot of posts from other users stating they had their account randomly locked and had the same problems. Was there some sort of widespread issue that caused this?
