Probably one of many threads asking this, so sorry, but is this a classic or remastered?
The listing (£500) says remastered and a picture of the serial number (AER2B33DW) implies it. But the back looks quite classicy - I don’t see the V shape I think I am meant to see?

My SA from the Greenwich location just emailed me an exclusive 30% off offer that expires tomorrow. I think this is the perfect opportunity to get the Embody Gaming. This way I can try it out for a month and if it does not work out I can return it and get the Aeron during the Black Friday sale.
Yes I am looking for validation.
But also open to all of your lovely thoughts…

Hello, everyone. I searched the sub and see that the problem I'm having isn't exactly uncommon. That is to say, when I pull the tilt lock lever up to set it, it immediately returns to the unlocked position. Nothing keeps it in place like it's supposed to. Well, tonight I finally got fed up with it and tried to find the problem to fix it. And while there's lots of solutions on this sub (mostly "order a replacement cam"), nobody explains what the cause is.
This isn't a cam issue. It's just that there's no friction holding the cam in place and the return spring just pulls it back to unlocked. I've "solved" my little problem by removing the return spring. Not the most elegant solution, as now I need to jiggle the handle when I want to go fully unlocked. I just want to know what the source of friction is supposed to be that SHOULD be holding the cam in place. Did a bushing wear out? Did I discover some kind of super-lubricant that affects only this one simple machine? I have not completely disassembled the under-workings to see if there's any unusual wear spots. But, seeing how the bottom is completely open, if any parts broke and fell out, they would be spotted pretty easily.

Hey everyone
I'm looking for a new office chair and have narrowed it down to the Herman Miller Verus (€640) and Steelcase Series 2 (€655).
The second-hand market isn't great where I live, so I'm looking for something new that offers a premium feel without getting too expensive.
If you've owned either chair, how has your experience been?

Got a refurbished Aeron Classic size B about 2 weeks ago. Noticed the chair feels a little wobbly, like if I lean side to side while sitting still it rocks instead of staying planted (like a plate balancing on a stick feeling).
Checked all the bolts under the seat pan and everything’s tight, no play there. When I look at where the cylinder shaft goes into the base, I can actually see it shift side to side a bit and feel play right at that connection point. Height adjustment itself still works fine, doesn’t sink or anything, it’s purely this side to side movement.
Trying to figure out before I contact the seller whether this is more likely a worn cylinder or if the base socket itself could be worn/damaged and causing it. Anyone dealt with this before and did replacing the cylinder fix it?

I’ve had my Embody for five years and it has started making a really loud squeak noise whenever I slightly lean back. This is not the common complaint of squeaks coming from the fabric or seat. It is coming from a mechanical part of the Embody that allows the chair to lean back. Does anyone have experience with this being covered by warranty?

I’ve had it for about 6+ months now and I absolutely adore this chair!!

I recently sold a pair of Herman Miller Cosm high-back chairs with leaf arms. Both were in genuinely excellent condition, with no issues whatsoever.
The buyer came to collect them in person, inspected both chairs, sat on them and tested them out. Everything was fine, and he seemed happy with the purchase.
Then, literally about an hour after collecting them and taking them home in his car, he messaged me saying one of the reclining mechanisms was broken and requested a refund.
He sent me these photos, and I was honestly shocked because I’ve never seen this damage before. Both chairs were completely intact and working perfectly when I sold them.
From the photos, it looks like some sort of cover or structural piece around the reclining mechanism has broken off or gone missing. I don’t even recognise the part he’s showing me.
The only explanation I can think of is that something happened during transportation or unloading, but I genuinely have no idea how this could have happened.
Does anyone familiar with the Cosm know what this part actually is? Could this kind of damage happen while moving or transporting the chair? And more importantly, is it something that can be repaired or replaced?
I’m just trying to understand what could have happened here because I’ve gone from selling two perfectly good chairs to suddenly having a buyer requesting a refund for damage I’ve never seen before.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Can anybody help me identify this chair? The bottom has a label with herman miller written on it but I cannot find any information about this chair. The asari is the most similar but the back is a bit different. Is this actually a real Herman miller??

Won this at an Auction for £328. It was literally labelled as a 'John Lewis Office chair'
It seems brand new and is a Size C
Guys don't forget to check your auctions and do not search for Herman Miller, search for 'Chairs' or 'Office chairs'. You might find a Diamond in the rough
Happy hunting friends.

I don’t know much about chairst, whether this is a classic or a remastered. All i know is that it’s size C. (I’m 180cm not sure if it’s the right size)
I wanted to get a Herman Miller chair already, was looking at the embody because it was the one I saw everywhere and has a more distinct look.
I love this chair. What is the difference between this and the embody in terms of sitting comfort? Who is it for? I might keep this one.
Also how do I know if this is a classic or remastered?

I am coming to the conclusion I should try some other chairs. Wish I could like the Embody, but having a difficult time, and probably gonna need to accept it's not working for me.
I have a number of complaints about it, but basically I want a chair that is easily configurable, straight-forward, and meant for upright sitting. I resent the Aeron because it's basically non-adjustable.
Would the Mirra 2 be a good thing to try?
I like the build quality of HM chairs, but neither the Aeron nor the Embody are very user-friendly. They almost go out of their way to be difficult, in my view.

Anyone replace the old seat pad? I purchased a 3rd party one and am not sure if I should install it. I read that with the new one there would be a hump that is uncomfortable and needs to be worn in?

Tengo pensado comprar la silla Aeron Gaming pero tengo dudas de si el borde de plástico duro del asiento se clava en las piernas, corta el flujo o se hace incómodo mido 174 y peso 70 kg, para mí es importante que el asiento sea cómodo

I’m about 5'11" and 243 lbs. I’ve tried the Leap V2, and its seat feels a little compact. It’s not too small for me, but there isn’t much room to spare, and I don’t feel completely free to move around. I have fairly thick thighs.
The Embody’s seat width feels right for me, but its backrest really doesn’t suit my back. The Leap Plus looks noticeably wider than the Embody—could it be too wide for me? How does its seat depth compare with the regular Leap V2? Are there any other differences in the seat cushion besides its size?
The regular Leap V2’s backrest fits me really well, so I’m also wondering how the Plus would feel. Does the larger backrest fit differently?
There’s nowhere near me where I can try a Leap Plus. I’d really appreciate any advice on which one to choose, especially from people who have tried both or have a similar build. Thanks, everyone!

On an Aeron I have, when I put the E clip on the rear tilt cam, I’m able to lift the lever up and lock it into place, but when I push the lever down the rear tilt cam does not come back down. When I take the E clip off, the whole mechanism works smoothly.
I did not see any small spacer washers when I removed the E clip so maybe that’s my issue. Just seems like a tight fit when the E clip is on and that’s why it won’t unlock on its own. I’ll try and link a video. Does anyone know how I could fix this? I’ve never had this happen before. Thanks a lot

Hey everyone,
I recently bought a used HM Aeron Remastered (size C) and I have noticed it makes some loud creaking noises when I lean from side to side, especially when I am sitting upright and leaning to the right. It is completely silent when I lean back or forward.
I have attached a video so you can hear it.
Any idea how to fix it?
I have already tried applying WD-40 silicone to various exposed joints, but it made no difference.
Thanks in advance!
