MCU Honest question. When She Hulk started twerking with Megan Thee Stallion, why didn't it cause a thunderclap and destroy the whole office? 🤔

u/throwawaywork11 Aug 26 '26
Because Megan thee Stallion can control her powers.
If you mean She-Hulk. She wasn’t committed to full twerk.

I'm pretty sure Immortal Hulk explains that Bruce can subconsciously control the destructive force of the Hulk just enough to avoid any collateral damage, and with Jen being more in control, I imagine she is capable of preventing any dangerous gamma ass claps from escaping.

Well you can also control your own body's output, slap your face as hard as you can, now do it again but softly.
Clap your hands and make a loud noise but without hurting your hands, now clap your hands and make them hurt without making a loud clap noise.

u/Kn7ght Aug 26 '26
Jen got cakes but (un)fortunately not enough to clap like that
6
u/f1shb01 Aug 26 '26
What would be required for her to do a backwards gamma clap? Would more muscle make it easier or harder?
14
u/BrozedDrake Aug 26 '26
She spent a lot of time training to control her strength with Bruce.
I'd say that knowledge transfers in this case.

You know the MCU has to nerf characters and not display their full power level.

An audible clap is typically only heard when bare cheeks are coming together. She Hulk’s pants most likely prevent this disaster.
3
u/blkglfnks Aug 27 '26
She was holding back + pants were restricting, she didn’t want her she hussy out in the workplace.

Honestly the biggest thing I learned from this post is that most of the people on this sub seem to be okay with having fun, which is more than I can say for most of the weird She-Hulk hate I see elsewhere

u/homelesshyundai Aug 26 '26
...now I want to see that scene where she does that repeated fast thunderclap at banner but her twerking and making it clap instead.

The fact that I can't distinguish between the serious answers and the hehe hahaha is crazy

u/Lost_Advance3507 Aug 28 '26
Trying to keep it pg-pg HEAR ME OUT BRUH I’d would wager
1. Not having the foundation of rear end mass to be able to perform a good enough clap
2. Not knowledgeable enough on how to perform the clap with or without gamma
3. Dress is so tight it suppresses the movement and ability to be able to perform the clap in the first place
3
u/LochNessMansterLives Aug 27 '26
Idk but I love that scene. I know they get a lot of bad press from that one scene, but She Hulk was always doing stuff like that in her own book. She was breaking 4th walls before Deadpool existed. People can say all they want that she copied his gimmick, but she came out with the quirky antics in the 80’s. Calling out sexism while wearing nothing but speech bubbles, calling out artists who drew her lewdly. It was a whole thing. She can be a hulk and still be Jennifer. Bruce cannot. That’s a major difference between the two.

You do know ass clap requires certain movements and a lot of twerk movements are NOT those movements.

Because it was not well thought out....the physics on her clothes here on the normal clap. Static.

Do yall remember when someone got mad because Deadpool & Wolverine's intro dance became iconic and this twerking scene was deemed stupid?
1
u/shane-o-mack Aug 28 '26
I still think the only peeps that didn't like this were gay nazis (racist and hate women, regular gay men are awesome btw)
-1
u/meanbaldy Aug 26 '26
Maybe I'm too old but that twerking scene was unnecessary imo.
2
u/Renatusisk Aug 26 '26
Idk it felt very self aware of what it was. I don't really understand all the hate.
3
u/Deweymaverick Aug 26 '26
As a show that has the Mc belt out “Steve Rogers FUUUUUUUUUUCKS!” in victory, it knew exactly what it was trying to be, and it mostly was hella successful.
People (rightly) bitch about the MCU being the reheated formula over and over, but (childishly) cry red pill tears when it actually does something slightly different.

The agenda is that it was a fucking sitcom bro. Byrne had her jumping rope naked, this is not more goofy or humiliating than that.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with She-Hulk's character how she is in the show is pretty close to how she is in the comics (in general speak). Yeah there's some narrative problems with the show but as wholes it's fine to decent with great moments.
She-Hulk is the goofy bright side Hulk and duality to Bruce's brooding trauma damaged Hulk. The problem in the MCU is they decided to introduce She-Hulk and her lighter persona the same time goofy Professor Hulk is floating around in the MCU. If the MCU had distribution rights to the Hulk and continued to roll out solo films for him and progressed him toward the road to Maestro or released Brand New Day Hulk around the time of She-Hulk's entrance then her appearance probably wouldn't have been blasted by some people as much as it was.
It's really dissapointing because I really enjoyed her character, comics, and show.
The only way I think a She-Hulk entrance could've worked alongside Professor Hulk in the MCU is if they decided to start She-Hulk with her darker persona (the Savage She-Hulk post-Civil War II that Mariko Tamaki and later Jason Aaron wrote) before shifting her to her classic persona.
You can't have the same kind of character with the same set of powers running around at the same time.
