I'm terrified of them doing Hulk again...

u/Similar-Double6278 24d ago

They hate hulk...

48

u/ZardozSama 24d ago

I think that it is not so much 'the Russo's hate hulk' and more 'the Russo's are not the least bit interested in the Hulk' because the Hulk is just not interesting to them. Sort of like Sam Raimi and Venom, the character just does not vibe with them.

Either way, it does piss me off that they seem to view the Hulk as a convenient Punching Bag to put over whichever villain they are using.

END COMMUNICATION

u/unkn0wnname321 24d ago

I thinks it's more an issue of ' this character could end the problem immediately, we have to sideline them to make an interesting movie'

7

u/ZardozSama 24d ago

Also possible, except that the Russo's seem to really like Thor, and Thor is arguably worse than Hulk for the 'why does this guy need help at all' problem.

Hulk does not fly and other than the thunder clap, and throwing heavy things, does not have options to fight people keeping the hell away. Hulk generally needs to put his hands on whatever it is he needs to smash. And Hulk is not really Hulk all the time, as he can be reverted to Banner by whatever plot bullshit you want to pull out of your ass.

Thor is effectively as strong as Hulk hand to hand, flies, and summons thunder bolts for ranged attack. Thor also has access to whatever Asgardian magic makes sense for the moment. Denying Thor access to his powers is not as simple, especially since Ragnarok established he does not really need the hammer to be powerful.

Besides, the Russo's already played the 'needs a new hammer' card in Infinity War.

END COMMUNICATION

2

u/marc15v2 23d ago

Yeah but Thor is a complicated "human" in the sense that he can be stressed, angered, grieve, overwhelmed etc.

Hulk.. smash.

6

u/ZardozSama 23d ago

Banner is a hell of a lot more human than Thor.

Good Hulk stories strike a balance between unhinged 'holy shit' Hulk Smash moments, and Banner dealing with others trying to weaponize and control him, Banners relationship issues with those closest to him, and his repressed trauma and such.

Every man understands having to deal with something that absolutely pisses you off for very legitimate reasons, but needing to keep control of yourself and not yelling or screaming. But Banner cannot even have a hostile conversation with a total jackass because he does not want to demolish the entire building.

END COMMUNICATION

3

u/marc15v2 23d ago

Right. But that's not useful when he's the Hulk and just smashes everything though, is it? It's hard to make him lose and make it make sense often.

4

u/ZardozSama 23d ago

I think that for any action scene, if you need your hero to take a loss to advance the plot, you do not want that loss to undermine the character.

Hulk is a near indestructible rage monster that smashes things. Having Hulk physically overpowered by anyone on raw physical strength is just lazy writing. Having anyone beat the Hulk down should just not be a thing without extenuating circumstances.

So if you need Hulk to take an L, you need to make sure you are not undermining that. The best way to do that versus ally's is to give Hulk a reason to pull back like in Age of Ultron (started to snap out of whatever Wanda did to set him off) or Spiderman Brand New day.

The next best thing to do is make it very damn difficult to accomplish. When Thor beats the Hulk in the arena in Thor Ragnarok, he has to use a big ass lightning bolt after failing to get the job done hand to hand. Thor had to work for it.

When Thanos beat Hulk, it was all one way traffic. Lazy.

Dr Doom has a hell of a lot of ways to potentially beat Hulk that do not undermine Hulk. I am hoping that the Russo's did not just write "Doom blasts Hulk with some energy attacks and Hulk folds like cheap laundry".

END COMMUNICATION

3

u/marc15v2 23d ago

Right. Except Thanos CAN beat the Hulk.

Hulks whole thing is "the more I get hit and angry the tougher I become"

Which makes him incredibly difficult to constantly nullify in battles.

It's just a hard character to constantly subdue to move a plot along. It is what it is.

Actually comic wise hulk lost to thanos a lot. Lot of folks don’t know that. But they didn’t need to write hulk off with silly professor hulk,

1

u/Liam_Roma_1234 23d ago

I don't think they had this mindset with hulk. They had thor, captain marvel and Wanda running around in the conflict with thanos (who was also nerfed), It doesn't make sense that hulk would be the character they'd consider leaving out of the fight.

1

u/unkn0wnname321 23d ago

Captain Marvel didn't show up untill the end....then she immediately destroyed the massive spaceship attacking everyone. 😏

29

u/boring_artist98 24d ago

To be fair I don't think it's just the Hulk. They tend to nerf the most powerful characters, they nerfed Vision in Infinity War. They kinda nerfed Captain Marvel in Endgame and the odds are they'll probably do the same to Sentry in Doomsday.

10

u/Historical-Gain-6574 24d ago

You call this "nerfing"? 😂 riiiighht...

1

u/Char-els037 24d ago

If she doesn't just instantly kill him she's nerfed, if she does shes a Mary sue. I wonder what tHE Real problem is?

1

u/Liam_Roma_1234 23d ago

Pretty much yeah. Thanos is not like his comic counterpart, she should've whooped him (she can absorb energy)

2

u/Historical-Gain-6574 23d ago

Yes Thanos was nerfed to the ground, but Captain Marvel was definitely not nerfed. If anything, she is closer to the source material than anyone else is. That's the point is that she was not nerfed.

20

u/CaffeineWizard420 24d ago

They also nerfed Thor by forcing him to be the god of hammers again.

5

u/Sharp_Cat_6124 24d ago

Nah Thor and hulk not the same nomore Thor got way more feats

and will get odinforce in doomsday

2

u/Historical-Gain-6574 24d ago

Thor has more feats but Hulks' feats are more impressive in my opinion.

9

u/dirtyjersey211 24d ago

They each only have two feets.

3

u/Sharp_Cat_6124 24d ago

in the mcu?

1

u/Historical-Gain-6574 24d ago

Yup.

7

u/Sharp_Cat_6124 24d ago

mcu hulk has more impressive feats than mcu thor

https://giphy.com/gifs/kC8N6DPOkbqWTxkNTe

5

u/Historical-Gain-6574 24d ago

Yes, MCU Hulk has better feats than MCU Thor... I'm not talking about weapon feats or power feats, I'm talking about what I as a Hulk fan care about and look for:

Hulk has the best pure physical feats in the entire MCU, and that's simply a fact.

Thors' most impressive physical feat was breaking the cosmic ice formed on the rings of Nidavellir, but that was aided by Rockets' spaceship thrusters anyway... Without Rockets' help there he would not have been able to do that.

Hulk has the best striking, throwing and lifting feats in the entire MCU. In Avengers 1 he destroys the Leviathan and stops it dead with one punch in the middle of his transformation.

Hulk physically overpowered Thor in the arena of Sakaar forcing him to use his lightning.

Hulk wrestled and knocked Fenris Wolf into the void of space in less than 1 minute. Fenris was able to damage the Bifrost bridge with ease, It took Thor 10 full force swings and a very dramatic close-up to damage the bifrost. Lol.

He staggered Eternal Flame Surtur who was as big as a mountain and who was strong enough to destroy all Asgardian architecture and the realm itself with one blow. The two handed slam he landed on Surtur was enough to momentarily hault divine Armageddon mind you and visibly worry Thor.

The Hulk was able to knock Thanos completely off his feet and momentarily drive him backwards with sheer brute force in the opening sequence of Infinity War before getting pummeled. The only other being that did this to prime Thanos with a physical strike was Iron Man.

The Russos' themselves said that the Hulk was the "strongest" and only candidate capable of undoing the blip and surviving, even when directly asked if Captain Marvel or Thor could have done it. Cope.

In his calmer smart Hulk form he was able to throw a massive 40 ton boulder so hard at the sky that it reached escape velocity... it became a rocket... He had just got done doing yoga too...

The Hulk was able to snatch Spidermans' punch straight out of the air in Brand New Day despite Spider-sense. This feat alone puts his reaction speed in a completely different tier far beyond anything MCU Thor has ever shown. In fact, it puts him directly behind Makkari and Quicksilver... literal speedsters...

Thor could only wish, am I right 🫪? 😢 Nice try though ✌️

u/TheBagenius 21d ago

Maybe more impressive feets 😂

1

u/Spider-Flash24 23d ago

I guess the problem is they keep getting ensemble movies, which they are good at, but in order to keep the weaker characters relevant, their solution is to nerf the potentially god-level characters to hell so they don’t outshine everyone else. Civil War they treated everyone fairly except for making Vision just float around instead of one-shotting team Cap, and at the end Cap had to quickly take out all of Stark’s boosters and targeting systems so Bucky wouldn’t also be one-shotted.

Similarly, Carol Danvers is hyped up to be this savior in Endgame, but then they write her out of the movie entirely and bring her back briefly just to get punched out of the rest of the movie again. Hulk becomes smart hulk and Thor gets fat so they don’t just tag team gauntletless Thanos.

4

u/Fried_noodles69 24d ago

How could someone hate hulk😔

5

u/CartoonistMore4712 24d ago

General Ross

2

u/Historical-Gain-6574 24d ago

😰 let's hope not.

2

u/HyrulianCowboy1511 24d ago

They do not lmao. Clearly they’re not good at writing him but thinking there’s some kind of vendetta against him is just ridiculous

1

u/Fayz_Sharpie 24d ago

I don’t think it is the fact that they hate hulk, they are just not as good at writing the top tier powerful characters. Occasionally they can strike gold (ie Infinity War Thor), but I feel like they much prefer to write the more grounded, less Op characters than the likes of Hulk, Thor, Vision, and Wanda.

0

u/FoolsGold3 24d ago

Do they? Or were they just trying to balance things, with Hulk being incredibly strong and theoretically should win every fight, and they just missed the mark?

0

u/Bootstrap117 22d ago

If Disney makes a Hulk standalone movie, they have to give Universal the choice to handle distribution and split profits. Thats why hulk is instead used as a character in other movies, like using Thor Ragnarok to tell the Planet Hulk story.

1

u/Gotabox 22d ago

Wait lads. Before we think of the worst possible case which happened before. What if Doom uses Hulk to help him. What if he uses Hulk to turn on the avengers to destroy their universe and save his or create battleworld. Wishful thinking obviously. But i just hope whatever it is I hope I dont see Hulk getting absolutely whooped by Doom

12

u/Kirmit23 24d ago

This is what I think is going to happen, he’s going to use Hulk as a weapon in his army.

What if doom brings the world breaker 😱 I’ve wanted world breaker hulk in the mcu for ages!!!!

1

u/Crafty-Fish9264 23d ago

Doom is going to be the hero. Thats the spin and why Banner is working with him

1

u/TheBagenius 21d ago

Puny Doom

17

u/RMP321 24d ago

I doubt it, Hulk is seemingly going to be on Dooms side going off the encore stuff. And Doom wins Doomsday obviously.

2

u/TapOk2846 24d ago

Maybe Doom will pretend to be Tony and that way he'll manage to convince Bruce

3

u/RMP321 24d ago

It’s possible, the leak said that Doom approached Bruce but I don’t know how that would have worked or what other context there might be

1

u/Fried_noodles69 24d ago

He approached and spoke in latvarian accent

1

u/RMP321 24d ago

Then I doubt he thought it was Tony lol

1

u/Fried_noodles69 24d ago

Yes tony is dead. Rdj is playing a version of doom just like we saw Chris evans human torch in dp vs wolvie

4

u/RAVObserver 24d ago

Maybe…

3

u/_potatofromChaldea45 24d ago

I am concerned

In the OG Secret Wars, Doom harnessed the power of Molecule Man

Bruce has gamma, leftover Infinity Gauntlet stuff (i.e. the last surviving user), and the Hulk became this godlike being in Marvel Zombies

I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT OUR BOI WILL BE USED AS A BATTERY.

4

u/klaxterran 24d ago

Ya, the russos said they don’t understand the hulk. I think they should’ve been fired long ago

-1

u/FoolsGold3 24d ago

Because they don't understand how to use one character of a large ensemble? Seems a bit drastic, seeing as though every movie they've made for Marvel has been very successful and loved.

5

u/Plane_Possibility572 24d ago

The Russo Brothers are nothing Cap directors, that is the reason for their success, I highly doubt they are even capable of directing a Marvel movie without relying on Cap. He is their crutch.

2

u/FoolsGold3 23d ago

This is definitely something to say. They started with Cap sure, they naturally got the sequel. But are we really saying that Infinity War or Endgame were Cap-centric?

3

u/Plane_Possibility572 23d ago

Yes, as much as they were allowed to make it. Cap wasn't even supposed to really be in IW, but the Russo's admitted they just couldn't handle that so the scenes Cap got, were the Russo's trying to forcefully put him in the movie, whereas they had zero issue just giving the Hulk a two minute cameo at the beginning to get his butt kicked and then gone for the remainder of the three hour movie. Who picks up Mjolnir in Endgame? Who gets some big shining moments in that final battle? Cap is their main hero without a doubt.

1

u/Single-Primary-7791 20d ago

But the movies is titled "avengers" and captain america is leader of avengers in most of its version so having captain america in a avengers movie is somehow bad ??

2

u/Jazzlike_Court1328 20d ago

Exactly the title is Avengers, it's not just another Cap sequel. The Hulk is a core Avenger, not just a random hero thrown in, but that is how the Russos treated him. They gave more glory to secondary heroes than Hulk.

0

u/Single-Primary-7791 20d ago

I never saw anyone who called avengers infinity war or endgame as cap sequel ?? Just cuz he is in it by that logic i can call every avengers movie as iron man movie lol Ok but that aside i agree that hulk wasn't done too great in the movies there were various cut scenes in infity war with hulk one in which we were gonna see a conversation between hulk and bruce but russo cut it but that doesn't mean that russos are not good at directing avengers movie

1

u/Jazzlike_Court1328 20d ago

Take Cap away and I don't think they would even have enough passion for it or even be interested

1

u/Single-Primary-7791 20d ago

I mean in infinity war cap was literally a side charecter like i believe star lord ,thor, iron man had more screentine than cap did in that movie so how can I believe that russos only direct avengers for captain america when the literally gave him less screen time than star lord.

I honestly hope not. I don't dislike the Russo's but idk why creators get so defensive and stubborn about shit they clearly got wrong.

There’s leaked footage going around of avengers endgame encore

Its a post credit after bnd events bruce lock himself with the help of military 2 miles underground so that hulk wont come out or any other would reach him simultaneously developing some kind of gamma medicine (cure for hulk) he's recording everything, everyday. He's got a beard too. Then out of nowhere doom appears (can't see him only his voice) the screen goes dark. Doom says he's here to collect Bruce. And then all u hear is HULK'S ROAR then screen turns on and bruce is missing and u can see dooms weird green magic on the floor. (Sorry about my English)

1

u/Scared_Impression842 24d ago

Yes but marvel is re releasing it and showing 2-3 minutes of new footage for doomsday. And the leaks have already gotten out

1

u/BagBigHob 24d ago

And Hulk's back? Any word on what he does?

1

u/micheallujanthe2nd 24d ago edited 24d ago

From what ive been hearing apparently its the hulk from Eric banas universe and dr.doom kills him or wipes out his earth or something.

From what ive seen of the leaks, banner/hulk locked himself underground to prevent hulk from getting out and harming people and from people getting in and dr.doom somehow makes his way to him.

Some regions get to watch the movie tomorrow, so we should know very soon.

2

u/Crafty-Drink8384 24d ago

Is hulk even in the film?

7

u/MrTyrantLizard 24d ago

Yeah, they just added a new end credits scene to Endgame Encore and absolutely. It got leaked online from others going to that movie. Bruce gets captured by Dr Doom as hes in an underground bunker, trying to find a new gamma suppressant. The more he tries to suppress Hulk, the worse its going to get when Hulk takes over. Maybe we're slowly setting up World War Hulk? Ruffalo has said he WANTS to do that movie

2

u/sgtfan2005 24d ago

From what I’ve seen of a leaked scene, I don’t have high hopes for it.

2

u/Suspicious_Hand_2194 24d ago

Based on the encore leak, I’d rather see hulk get transported against his will than see his ass get laid flat by another powerful villain again. It still sucks though

2

u/CartoonistMore4712 24d ago

I think they added Hulk for final battle of Doomsday and it would be a twist Doom turned Hulk into his weapon

2

u/Soft_Ad_1095 24d ago

If hulk doesn't have a knock down drag out brawl with doom I'm walking out of the theater.

1

u/Single-Primary-7791 20d ago

Well it looks like he is gonna fight from doom's side

1

u/Acrobatic_Ad_5224 24d ago

He will get amped by Doom don't worry.

1

u/The--Behemoth Strongest there is 24d ago

I just want to see Hulk and Thing fight. After that just turn Hulk into Joe Fixit, send him to Vegas and to never touch him again. I'm tired of the constant disappointment when it comes to him.

1

u/Brucelee51 24d ago

If you mean the Hulk being a pussy getting beat up and not smashing then I hope not! Hulk is strongest there is!!!

1

u/stran___g 24d ago

Of course. The russos are gonna use him as a plot device for doomsday, the schlock cashgrab movie.

1

u/NectarineSuperb7955 Joe Fixit 24d ago

I'm just worried they are gonna butcher Maestro and what makes him interesting

1

u/Dependent_Air_3948 23d ago

They're gonna have maestro making fart jokes and dying to captain carter

1

u/Medium_Indication613 24d ago

After what Doom did to Thor in the trailer… Hulk may be in trouble.

Hope y’all enjoyed that victory on Spider-Man lmao

1

u/AgentRudeX 24d ago

I would like to see hulk go world breaker on battle world. I would literally cry in the theater with joy. He’s been getting second hand treatment same as vegeta. I just want to see him have not just a moment but a universe deciding/changing moment. I want to see the equivalent of him going ultra ego just like vegeta live. I selfishly would not be ready for the new fanbase that would come with the such feats but these characters deserve their moment

1

u/Obvious_Office_8888 24d ago

They ll fuck this film up bad

1

u/Slow_Initiative8876 24d ago

We just got Hulk back, I really hope they don't ruin him again.

1

u/goobi94 24d ago

I think they've actually done the right thing adding Hulk to it. Sentry's here! He'll be a huge problem for Doom. Hulk grabs Sentry and takes their fight far away.

1

u/cujo_frank 24d ago

Probably lol

1

u/-xBrian2OOOx 23d ago

His whole redemption would be meaningless now.

2

u/hulkman65445 23d ago

It already felt kinda meaningless because we barely got to see anything of it

1

u/IndependenceAway1227 23d ago

iirc they said something about the hulk that they dont what to do with the character because hulk is too strong cmiiw

1

u/darkwalrus36 23d ago

In what way?

1

u/Njino 22d ago

Can we get a legit (I mean REAL) Hulk vs Sentry world ending fight?

That’s all I want, two godlike beings destroying everything and going all out, while the rest of the characters deal with doom, so there’s no excuse “why doesn’t Sentry or Hulk just beat Doom”

1

u/Apprehensive_Buy9862 21d ago

I mean, universal owning the rights to solo hulk movies makes it only possibly to do buddy buddy films for hulk. So I’d say that has some to do with why they always make him disappear in the main story.

1

u/Sensitive-Piccolo659 20d ago

And here we go hulk fans once again whining like always because they don't get hulk be one punch man in mcu and defeating thanos and every villain.

1

u/No_Dimension_5509 20d ago

Maestro incoming

1

u/gunnarbird 20d ago

I think they’ll make some mistakes in these movies, but I doubt they make the same mistakes twice

1

u/TurnedAgent 19d ago

Thor’s hair is back to being short and brown so yes, they are going to make the Hulk a bitch again.

1

u/ConditionEffective85 19d ago

Nah I think this time it's Thor and Hulk is more of a secret weapon in the new movie.

1

u/Zbleezy24 19d ago

its bc the actor for hulk has spoken out about israel

1

u/Swagman1997 18d ago

Why would think bring back savage hulk to just do him dirty again tho. I think secret wars will do him justice

1

u/Calm-Border3503 14d ago

What happened to Hulk in infinity war is about to happen to Thor in Doomsday

1

u/KenpachiTetsuo 24d ago

The Hulk is the antithesis to the Russo brothers' underlying theme of balance in their movies. He's the only character that can not be appropriately checked without it seeming unreasonable. You either sideline him or exclude him entirely from the movie altogether, once you "fairly" introduce him the scale tilts in his favor.

You can't have a movie about balance when you have a healthy, freshly woke, recently returned to savage Hulk present.

Thanos would not have gotten the stones as fast as he did if Savage Hulk were around.

2

u/Tityfan808 24d ago

Eh. Everyone’s throwing around this ‘they nerfed this and that’ BS but just about everything with superheroes has this issue to a lesser or greater extent.

And that last line is hilarious. Thanos did face the hulk and he was written to lose. Can we seriously get the fuck over that already? Lmao. 🤦‍♂️ If Hulk beat Thanos in his own movie that was building up Thanos hype over like 10 years you’d have even more people complaining endlessly about it.

It’s comic books and superheroes, there’s loads of wonky shit in this genre. Best not to take it too seriously

1

u/Ogi_yuka 20d ago

2

u/Plane_Possibility572 24d ago

If they were creative enough they could figure it out, they are very lazy when it comes to Hulk. I predict Hulk is removed from the action immediately, sits out the final battle, Cap saves the day in a glorious action scene, the Russos gaslight everyone about Hulk's character development by showing us Hulk eating a taco. Its that predictable at this point. I really wish they would have brought in other directors for this.

1

u/KenpachiTetsuo 24d ago

I don't think it's a matter of creativity. Fact of the matter is Hulk is functionally immortal in the comics and pretty OP before that crackpot mechanic. I agree with your sentiment though. They probably will bench him.

1

u/MOSH9697 22d ago

Uhhh thanos wrecked savage hulk tho

1

u/minibearattack 21d ago

Yeah, Thanos beats Hulk in the comics more than Hulk beats Thanos.

1

u/KuhanStarlord 21d ago

He literally rag dolled Hulk and made him disappear for years.

1

u/easymacn 20d ago

When I first saw infinity war I genuinely thought hulk was gonna be the main star. Like they sidelined him 90% of the time and never got a solo movie and was always the big dumb guy who just broke shit and barely did that even.

So I figured thanos beats his ass, showing hulk/baner he’s got more to learn and hulk isn’t a get out jail free card. He comes back in endgame bulked up and trained and beats the smoke off thanos in a redemption moment with the help of the other avengers.

I think ultimately the iron man ending was better. But man I thought for sure they wouldn’t do hulk that dirty. They did him even worse making him a gimped version of himself with a fried arm who did almost nothing at all in the final battle and never recovered.

I think hulk is the worst used character in the entire mcu

1

u/AwarenessOk7748 24d ago

In terms of what? For me, the Russos didn’t ruin the Hulk — the most I can say about them is that they didn’t show the Hulk in the battle with Wakanda and, off‑screen, made him the Smart Hulk. Otherwise, they treated him pretty well.

But now, after Disney really messed with the Hulk and his characters (ultimately turning him into Doom’s lackey), his disgrace in Avengers 5–6 is very possible, unfortunately.

1

u/Plane_Possibility572 24d ago

They benched him from all of the action of BOTH movies, made him look cowardly in IW and turned Banner into a buffoon, then they turned the whole character into a joke in Endgame.

0

u/AwarenessOk7748 23d ago edited 23d ago

This is complete nonsense. I can still understand the complaint about Infinity War that he was removed. The talk about cowardice is nonsense, because the Hulk’s fear is quite logical. In what way was the Hulk a laughingstock in Endgame? On the contrary, he was normal and restored half the universe. It was in She‑Hulk that the laughingstock thing really started.

1

u/Plane_Possibility572 23d ago

The Russos later said he wasn't afraid, but the movie portrays otherwise, this goes against his character, nothing like that ever happened in the comics, but we know it was just a plot convenience to get him out of the movie, there wasn't any deep thought put into it. It is what it is. By Endgame the Hulk is gone, we just have Bruce Banner big and green, dabbing, handing out tacos, we have no Hulk scenes, no Hulk action, just IW. Nobody cares about the stupid snap, that is not a payoff for getting no Hulk in two movies, and the Hulk sitting out the finales of both movies, the snap does not replace that. Take away the snap, and replace Smart Hulk with just Bruce Banner, and nothing in the plot of that movie even changes, that is how much of a non factor, the Hulk himself is in the movie. He was essentially just used for laughs in the whole movie until the snap scene.

What does it matter what was in the comics if this is already a different version of the Hulk with a different story? This actually fits the character of the gamma monster, who thinks like a child and was first brutally defeated. If for you it’s just about fights without any development and you don’t care about his great feat at all, that’s solely your problem. What’s so funny about him? What are you talking about?

Dude....what the Russos did with the Hulk was NOT about development, they gaslighted you. They simply created excuses to intentionally sideline him for their own convenience so they wouldn't have to use him in their movies. Its that simple. They didn't put any more thought into his arc than that, their mindset was how can we create a way to ensure Hulk is not part of the action. When IW premiered, the Hulk looked like a coward, which is a disservice to the character in its own right. When the Russo's received unexpected backlash, it caught them off guard, so they saved face by saying in promotions that Hulk wasn't afraid, he just didn't want to fight Banner's battles, which is indicated no where in the movie, proof the Russo's had no grand plan for the Hulk, it was just whatever way they could sideline him.

The Hulk is an action character. Tony is an action character, Cap is an action character. What Cap fan wants to watch him in an Avengers movie and do nothing in the final battle? But his big moment is a snap scene? That is underwhelming in every way you look at it. And it was Bruce doing the snap, not Hulk. The Hulk was erased by Endgame. And yes he dabs, tells unfunny jokes, hands out tacos. There was nothing deep or meaningful about Smart Hulk in any way. It was lazy writing, introducing him in an exposition dump in the diner was not great character development, it was a shortcut by a creative team that no interest in telling his arc.

Dude, BND and She‑Hulk aren’t about character development — it’s just lazy writing. If you’re offended by the LOGICAL fear of the main villain who just brutally defeated the Hulk for the first time in history, that’s solely your problem. Dude, just think about it: if a character doesn’t develop and is only shown in action sequences, that’s a bad character. I suggest you find out who Smart Hulk is — it’s the fusion of Bruce and the Hulk.
