Javaslat Searching for a language exchange partner - interested in history, fashion, film
Szia! I'm learning Hungarian because my great grandmother was from Hungary. Specifically, she is from somewhere in Tolna.
I want to learn more about Hungarian history and get to know the culture. I study fashion merchandising, so I am particularly interested in learning about Hungarian fashion and its history. I am also really interested in Hungary's ancient history with the nomadic horseback stuff, since I don't know much about this at all. Maybe as I continue to get to know the culture I'll apply for the simplified naturalization so I can be officially Hungarian, but I am not rushing into it. I want to know Hungary some more first.
I am a native English speaker, and also speak Chinese at an intermediate level. Besides my interest in fashion, I am a writer and enjoy reading. I like to keep up with global politics and current events, trying new foods, and going for long walks while listening to disco and 80s pop music. I really love a good film too, and am always looking for recommendations.
If it sounds like we might have stuff to talk about, please consider sending me a message.

I can help you out with the history, always happy to chat about that, as it is an area that always interested me and which I studied formally. I also did a bit of horseback riding. Not sure what format or frequency you had in mind.

That would be super awesome if we could chat! My Hungarian class is only once every two weeks, so I have a lot of time in-between where I don't have much opportunity to practice.

I think Hellotalk is an app specifically made for this.
