First grow, need some help

This is my first grow. Getting into week 7 of flower. I’ve been having some issues with yellowing and what I believe is nutrient burn. Started about 2 weeks ago. I think my res was getting too low which was causing ph and ec to get out of wack for too long.

The past week I’ve been very responsive to it. Topping off often, checking ph and making sure the ec isn’t going crazy, but the problem is continuing. Doesn’t appear to have affected the buds, aside from some slight browning to the tips of sugar leaves.

Hoping someone can help me identify what the problem is here.

Using master blend, mkpur, epsom salt, and calcium nitrate for my nutrients. I’ve cutting back on them over the past week as well because the EC was rising a lot between top offs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks likes you're close to the finish line..

I was thinking (hoping) this is partially senescence, but wanted to see what others with more experience thought.

There are no issues. Feed the plant. It's asking for food. Rule 1 of dwc. Ppm should always remain the same if you are feeding at the right ppm. Only your water level should change. If ppm raises, you are overfeeding. If ppm lowers you are underfeeding. Well done for first grow. You're at the end.

I check EC. I've cut nutrients back in order to maintain that as she drinks. When the yellowing started it was raising a LOT from day to day.

Glad to hear this is all normal!

Hard to say without being there myself but it could simply be that she is in the final stage of growth, many will call the fade. Considering most plants are ready to harvest around weeks 8 to 12 of flower you are close.

As cannabis plants grow, the lower leaves gradually get shaded out by the canopy above them. A leaf that isn’t receiving light stops being useful to the plant. The plant stops putting resources into it, it yellows, and it drops. This is normal plant behavior, not a problem.

Near harvest time, the plant stops taking up as much nitrogen and breaks down chlorophyll in the fan leaves. Especially the lower and larger fan leaves like yours.

A normal late-stage fade usually starts from the bottom or middle of the plant and gradually moves upward, or affects the older fan leaves while the sugar leaves near the buds stay relatively healthy.

Older leaves near the bottom and middle of the plant may dry out, curl, or become slightly crispy, eventually dropping off on their own.

Again, hard to say as it may be a lack of macronutrients as this is a sign of leaves turning yellow at the bottom but again needing to be there and look, feel and test for 100 positivity.

Hope this helps, good luck and happy harvest soon as it looks.

This is exactly what’s been happening. Larger older fan leaves and been slowly working its way up.

Even after they turn brown and begin to roll up, some of them are still soft feeling. They do eventually turn crispy, but by that point the entire leaf is done. I’ve pulled about 15-20 yesterday, but most essentially fell off when I touched them.

Fading would be my first guess but ya never know. Best thing to do is watch her, these girls are great at telling ya what's goin on with her and how she's feeling. Have you begun to check the trichs? Looks like she's getting close though hard to tell for sure since there are no close up pics.

I have, mostly clear, little to no amber yet.

I've been thinking this is a combination of fading and nutrient issues from 2 week ago. I stressed her a bit, and now the fade may be kicking in on top of it. I'll be keeping a very close eye on here from now on.

Oh well yeah if you had a period of stress that could be the remnants of it along with the fade beginning. Just keep an eye out, you will notice any serious changes that need attention. Good you are checking the trichs also and before you know it they will be ambering up and at 10 percent and up. I see the beginning of a couple few trichs with a light amber.

Just defoliate whatever that is shaded.

Almost at the finish line .

Yeah dude, she is about done. I would strip all those yellow fan leaves and finish her off. What most likely happened is she got root-bound and sucked up too much water before you could top her off. Good luck!

Looks like you’re going a little bit hard on the nitrogen. The leaves are clawing and the waxy color.

I noticed the clawing too. I was thinking too much nitrogen, and maybe a phosphorus deficiency.

Strip those leaves off. Ya don’t need them anymore.
