other Youtube TV experience?
Hello all! Longtime fan here, currently on a rewatch now that iZombie has become available on a couple platforms. Hope this isn’t too off-topic, but I wanted to ask everyone what their experience with Youtube TV has been like so far!
This is my first time using the app (I’ve never needed Youtube TV before) and I’m actually really shocked by how much I dislike it. The ads seem very different than regular Youtube — almost all of them are about Tiktok or AI, both of which I personally revile and do NOT want to see ads about 😅
It’s also difficult to find lists of the episodes/seasons, as if all the videos are independent of each other. Very frustrating when I want to double-check which episodes I’ve seen so far, or which ones are next!
And — almost as frustrating as the unsavory ads — Youtube‘s autoplay has a tendency to skip the opening scenes of each episode, picking up only after the intro sequence. I’m only halfway through s1, but at least twice now I’ve had to restart the whole episode after realizing I’d missed the entire opening scene!
Is this anyone else’s first time using Youtube TV or the Youtube app? I’m honestly so annoyed that I might go figure out Pluto, or return to sailing the high seas. Was simply flabbergasted by the inadequacy of the service, and thought I’d ask what you all thought! 😂
Edit: Thank you everyone for the feedback! I’m very glad I’m not alone with this ridiculous app. 😂😂 Will probably switch to another service soon!

I'm using regular YouTube to stream it, not YouTube TV. Ads have been mostly real commercials (including local campaign ads) for me with others mixed in like Netflix, etc
Oddly, the issue you describe with the skipped first scene was happening to me with PlutoTV which caused me to move to YouTube instead 🤷🏻♀️

I can't stand regular YouTube with ads. I pay for premium but you could use Firefox with ublock origin if you don't feel like paying for it. Huge difference

I have YouTube Premium so I have no ads at all. For me, watching iZombie on YouTube has been a breeze. I don’t recognize your experience with the lack of lists; for me, the show comes up as having its own page and I can pull up a playlist for each season. I first watched the whole series on Pluto when it became available before realizing YT was also an option. Pluto worked great, but the ads were annoying. After realizing it is also on YT, I now doing my next rewatch over there. I definitely prefer YouTube thanks to my premium allowing me to escape the ads. I do agree it’s weird that it skips the opening though, so you have to rewind manually. However, it seems that the point is actually that YouTube is trying to just skip the ”Previously on…” for you when you’re binge watching, but unfortunately, it does that even when there isn’t a recap, or when the recap is much shorter than normal. That is certainluya shame, but once you’re aware of it, it’s easy to rewind yourself, so while annoying, it’s not a deal-breaker for me.

Also, it is 1080p on YouTube and 720p on Pluto. Presumably, it was 1080i when it ran on CW.

if you have access to a computer i would just watch it on youtube on a browser, and install the ublock origin adblocker (most browsers have it available as an extension)

I love iZombie and have been on a back to back rewatch since it came to Pluto in August. I did that with the 100 right before lol. Works for me.

Pluto is pretty good. Fair amount of ads but it's free.
