Yet another kallax board removal question

Hello,

I saw a lot of posts of people removing and sawing parts of kallax shelves for bigger spaces but none with the configuration i'd like to do.

Id like to have a 2x2 square space in on of the bottom corners of the kallax so I can fit my big 3d printer there.

Do you think it would be safe to do? I was thinking of adding some corner brackets in that space to reinforce the structure, it should be fine right?

You could also make something like an insert, at least both sides and a top, to carry the weight and give it structure.

Fair enough I could try that, would the corner brackets not be enough you think?

Depends on what you do with it ofcourse, but I wouldn't trust that, the sides are hollow too so that makes adding brackets tricky.

Right, its pretty much cardboard... I forgot about that, thing is that the 3d printer will fit snug vertically, it will have no space for an insert on the top surface, but i can probably try and make one on the sides, im just not sure what material to use

I mean it's better than nothing, just plywood I guess, and paint that black.
