Discussion Will 10th street ever reopen?
Any update on progress? Feels like a roundabout is taking a really long time.

Yeah, I heard they were going to rename 11th to 10th and just shift all the rest down by 1

There was a Facebook Post from Gillespie Florist back in June that said they found an "undocumented clay utility pipe that needed a brand-new permit and relocation plan". So...who knows.

I've noticed there will be a burst of construction on a project and then they'll just completely abandon it for 1 or 3 or 18 months
Looking at you Madison Ave what happened???

That is the most ridiculous nonsense. It’s been forever since anyone has been working, but now want to start construction off Virginia and 86th street. Someone at DPW needs to lose their job because they can’t map projects for a damn.

Our energy should go towards changing the city's bidding process. They always pick the lowest bid and it's usually the same contractors.

Gillespie Florists just posted that it'll be another 2 weeks. The roundabout is paved and there are curbs now.
It seems they're trying to time the upcoming closure of the Rockville & Country club intersection with 10th reopening, because they pushed that closure back 2 weeks too. Idk who's doing each project, but I bet regardless the Rockville construction and intersection closure is putting pressure on them to finish 10th soon. They have the ditches by that intersection all dug up and they were tearing out the shoulder today. So I have hope that the end is in sight!

If you’re referring to the area between Rural and Jefferson, it keeps opening and closing (open right at this moment), apparently completing the sewer stuff then pavement over 3 segments on and off. No idea when it’ll be finished.

No, 10th and Raceway. My fault for not being clear. Glad to know the entirety of Indy is constantly plagued by slow road construction though.

Oh it sure is. It’s weird, usually they close a road for a period and reopen but on 10th over here it’s like randomly open and closed every other day, or closed and open for parts of the day, it’s odd.

Wait... They're putting in a roundabout?

I thought it was decided against. Though after the one at Rural and Southeastern went in, I would prefer it now.

Looks like I'm thinking about a different project. I thought the post was referring to the work they're doing around Tech.

So did I. Can't wait for them to finish fixing the sewer and re-paving the road.

What are you talking about? They're making quick progress. It's not just the road that was modified, all infrastructure around there had to be moved. Here's a video of the progress Drone Footage Update

Hope you’re exaggerating…
Feel like I could have finished it just by myself by now

From my understanding there was a long delay because they found some previously unidentified utilities. Then they had to wait for those utility companies to take care of their stuff, and those places drag their feet when it comes to extra work.
