Daily TREATMENT Community Thread - Wed Oct 14 PM

Our community threads are the heart of our subreddit and operate much like a specialized support group – we share our experiences and strive to collectively support one another on the topic at hand.

Please use this space for sharing and discussing any type of treatment, trying to conceive, or family building measures. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Advice / Updates on current treatment cycle or planned/future treatment cycles
  • Questions / Discussion about medications, treatment, diagnostic tests, and lab results
  • Any measures taken/evaluated to improve treatment outcomes – supplements, diet, exercise, etc
  • Seeking emotional support related to upcoming treatment, treatment outcomes, infertility diagnosis, and confirmed loss
  • Commiseration and venting related to treatment
  • Supporting and cheering on fellow members as they run the gauntlet of infertility treatments

Essentially, if you mention treatment, TTC, or family building measures – it goes in this thread.

A few notes:

  • Positive HPT or Beta Results (including Beta Hell) should only be posted in the Results thread as per the rules (except for confirmed loss): https://www.reddit.com/r/infertility/search?q=flair_name%3A%22Results%22
  • We recognize that the AM/PM distinction doesn’t match up with every time zone in our global community, we ask that you pick the most recently posted thread wherever you are.
  • Standalone culture here is saved for complex topics, usually including detailed conversations around scientific studies, or asking multi-part complex questions around treatment plans. We strongly recommend posting in the community threads first. If you aren’t sure, ask in the daily threads first!

Above all - Science minded perspective and respect for others is important here. Please treat your fellow peers with compassion.

Just found out first transfer failed. So now we have a single euploid embryo remaining. The clinic didn’t even suggest a review appointment until I asked, which I feel like should have been automatic? I hate having to advocate for myself in a situation where they’re the experts and I’m here for the first time.

I'm so sorry. They definitely should have reached out to you about a follow-up.

It was weird. The nurse called with the negative beta result and was appropriately sympathetic and matter-of-fact. The only next steps they initially gave me was stop the meds, and let us know when you want to start the next cycle.

I am proud of myself for asking about a follow up appointment. I’m not great at asking for things, but I’ve had to learn to do so.

I had to visit my old (bad) OBGYN and then my current (okay) one to get some paperwork that I need to take to the new clinic to start IVF. I haven't been to the bad one since January, after the doctor kind of messed up my D&C. Thankfully I didn't have to see him when I went in, but the receptionist working remembered me; she told me that she was glad to see I looked well, and that she was rooting for me. I thought that was sweet. It might be the first time I've ever left that office in happy tears

i’m so irritated with my clinic. I’m currently CD3 and I’ve called every day for the last three days asking for the exact same protocol as FET2 and that I want to move forward with FET3 this cycle.

every single time I’ve called they’ve told me that the doctor has not signed off on my protocol because he hasn’t had time.. the nurse said that we have until CD5 for me to get a protocol started. If I don’t start the protocol by five, then I’ll have to wait a full cycle to do my third transfer.

right now we have the money to do more testing, if this next transfer were to fail, we would be moving forward with the receptivadx test.

does anyone know if that test has to be done during a mock cycle? I should have asked the nurse today but I was so irritated by their lack of care that I didn’t. my thought is I could move forward with that test if I didn’t need to do a mock cycle..

edit to add: well I searched through my 2749372 emails with the clinic and found out it has to be during a mock cycle. great. 😤

So sorry your clinic is being unresponsive when timing is so crucial! Can they put you on birth control to pause your cycle? My clinic does this during wait periods for approval/insurance so that a cycle can start whenever things are approved without waiting for the next one.

My same coworker who went through IVF and was successful first round is now telling me to have an open heart going into my transfer because it worked for her.

Pleaseeeee stop.

I’m entitled to be realistic. Our situations are NOT the same.

Well, found out they found my biopsy sample, but it hasn’t been processed yet since CNY forgot to mark what test it was on the form and the company reached out to them THREE times over the past 3 weeks and they didn’t answer until Monday. So now I still have to wait a week or two for results. So annoyed.

They also haven’t answered my two messages asking for my Receptiva results, which they’ve now been sent twice.

Just found out they were first sent the Receptiva results on 9/23! I even asked early October about it and they said it usually took 2 weeks.
