I read an article that went on and on showing how Trump fits the biblical predictions of the coming Antichrist. I’m not religious and I found it entertaining at first but by page three I was just depressed and had a sense of impending doom.
Certain sects desire the End of Days, believing that they will be raptured and all the people that they dislike will be punished and tormented for eternity. They want it so bad that they are willing to sacrifice society and empower the Antichrist to fulfill the prophecy. They don’t believe that doing such things would disqualify them from being saved.
Yep, they conveniently forget the repentance part.
Being sorry for what you did is one part, although evidence seems to point to there being no remorse.
The other element of repentance is to actively work to not commit that sin again.
That's the part that is lost on them because they think asking forgiveness on Sunday is good enough, and then go right back to their same old stuff for the rest of the week.
Haven't you heard? They are "saved by faith alone", thanks to a letter written by a guy who never met Jesus but had a mental health crisis while walking to Syria.
Supposedly the rapture will only come after the 3rd temple is built in Jerusalem. Its part of the reason so many fundamental Christians back Isreal and their expansion. They want to seem the dome of the Rock torn down and a new temple built because the believe that will usher in the rapture.
I can’t help but think that there’s a possibility that at least one person in congress would gladly nuke the entire world if it meant that they’d get to jerk god off once they get to heaven.
Uncanny, isn’t it. Can you imagine what the fundies would be saying if a non-Republican President had so many similar qualities. Fox would never shut up about it.
In Exodus 21:7–11. it talks about how to sell your daughter into slavery and the rules that regulates the practice of a father selling his daughter into servitude or marriage

All the local congressional candidates have their commercials out in my area and for all the Republicans it says “they will stand up to Washington” then it shows them shaking hands with Donald Trump.
Like who the fuck do you think is in control right now? Who do they think Washington is?
Let's see, Republicans currently control every branch of government and things are only getting worse, so let's blame the Democrats. If I weren’t one of them, I'd be amused at the susceptibility to nonsense displayed by so many of our people.
As a Christian I would say, then let’s accelerate hard into it and head to the promised land. Vote Democrat and we end suffering and go to heaven by this reasoning!
Yeah it’s kind of ridiculous how folks use a 2500-year-old book as some sort of definitive political guide. If they’d like to use it in their personal lives - fine by me. In social circles, however, they need to let things go and just focus on issues in the here and now, not some empty promises made millennia ago.
Let’s see… since the Bible was written, Rome fell, the plague happened, the crusades happened, WWI and WWII happened, countless genocides, etc… But yeah, NOW is the end times because ONE political party in ONE single country has some policy positions that you don’t like because you’re bigoted, racist, and homophobic. Got it.

What's scary is "the Cristians" believe it and are voting for the end of times. They WANT end of times because it means they get to be with their "savior".
